Boxer Pal
1st time new owner of "Holly" 10 wks old. Suggestions for night-time? Sleeps well in crate during the day, but cries and barks at night. She has been with us for 3 wks.

Welcome to BW and ocngratulations on your new baby!! Boxers are very social maybe you should try letting him sleep in your bedroom. Trooper has been sleeping with us since his first day home.

Basil's Mom

Boxer Buddy
We were once in your same situation. Our Basil cried and barked. One night we put her kennel in our bedroom, she still cried. So we kept her kennel where it was in the kitchen. We used a Kong at night to keep her busy for a short time. She eventually got used to the idea that it was bedtime. Now she loves her bed. It probably took her 2 months before she slept through the night without crying!! We thought we would never get through it.
Now we are getting ready to have her sleep in our bedroom on her own bed. We will see how it works out.
Good Luck.

Boxer Booster
Hello and welcome -

We kept Baron in a crate in our bedroom with a heating pad and an alarm clock - we only heard from him when he needed to go to the bathroom during the night (well, except for the big sighs:) )
At about 3.5 months we moved him into his daytime crate in the living room for night time too - now we say "time to go to bed" and he practically runs for his crate! And he doesn't need to go out in the middle of the night either! :D

There is a light at the end of the tunnel! Enjoy the site, Wendy & Baron

Boxer Insane
When we first got Angel she was not fond of the crate at all. We made sure it had a nice cozy blanket and the only thing that made her sleep at night was to put a clock (one that ticks) on top of the crate. The sound is supposed to remind them of their mother or littermates heartbeat as she was so used to sleeping on someone all the time. Now at 5yrs old she goes into her crate and sleeps there with the door open. It's her favourite comfort spot other than the couch! Congrats on your new edition! They are sooo special!
