Hiccups

Thanks for all the welcomes and help!! I think I am getting the hang of surfing around this site and have found tons of useful tips! Now for the question: Is it normal for boxer puppies to have hiccups? Our Layla gets them whenever she gets scared or excited. Her whole little body gets into it and it looks painful....poor baby.

Congratulations on your beautiful baby! We got Olive a little over two months ago and she is duly nicknamed "Hiccup Pup". At least once a day she got them. I was talking to a guy at PetSmart and he said that one of the things that will help them get over them is exercise - allowing them to run. Now that she's a little older, she runs more in the backyard and the hiccups are down to about 3-4 times a week instead of 8-10 times a week. But she still has them. She is our first boxer but we've had almost 20 dogs between my fiance and I over our lives. She is truly different from any other dog we've ever had. Take loads of pictures as they grow SOOOO fast - literally it seems she has growth spurts overnight.
