Hi!

My name is Cori and I live in South Florida. We just got our first Boxer on Sunday. Charlie is a Brindle Male, born on 9/5/01. I had found this site a couple of months ago while doing research about the breed and lost an entire afternoon reading about them and all of your posts! Needless to say, I was hooked even before bringing him home.
I have two skinboys, age 10 1/2 and 4. There is a lot of love in the air between them and Charlie. :)

We are working on housetraining right now which is going about like I expected. More poopy inside than outside. He went poops outside for the first time at 1:00 this morning. It was funny to see my hubby out there in his underwear, making a fuss over the dog for going potty.....LOL

He's great with the crate training though! The first night there was whining and howling but after about 1/2 an hour, he settled down and went to sleep. Last night, he tried the whining again which we ignored and he settled down to sleep. During the day, I leave the door open and when he wants to be alone, he goes to the door of the crate and sleeps just outside of it. He's taken one of his favorite toys and put it inside the crate.

Anyway, didn't mean for this to be so long. Just wanted to introduce us and say hi. I'm sure I'll have a zillion questions coming up. :)

Hi...I'm a new Boxer owner myself. Stella is an 8 weekold female fawn, docked tail, floppy ears. Just got her Saturday. It's funny because, we have the potty training pretty much down...she goes right to the back door when she needs to go. The only problem is she likes to go on our back deck next to the pool, she seems to dislike going out into the grass. We literally have to carry her into the grass and not allow her back onto the deck until she has gone.....now crating is a whole other deal...she hates being crated, and we are still working on that one with great deals of patience. Good to hear from another recent owner, hope all goes well for you and your Boxer!

Hi! A big slurpy welcome Boxer kiss to the both of you, I have a 12 week old puppy and he is doing fairly well with potty training, he poopies outside, but has problems with peeing in the house. Ken, he was going poopy on the porch and what I did was to take his poopy to where I wanted him to go and he just started going to that spot. Try that, it might work for you also. As for crating he likes it during the day to nap in, but at night he sleeps with us in the bed. kingicon

KenEC and Cori

Welcome, both of you to Boxerworld, and congratulations on your new additions:D

My husband and I tried to crate train our rescue furbaby with NO success. Chelsea is @ 6-7 years old and we figured somewhere along the line she must have had a bad experience (she really freaked out when we tried to force the issue). Chelsea has the full run of our florida room/tv room (heated & cooled) and has taken over my sofa.

As far a potty training, we lucked out. Chelsea is very clean.

Cori, all I can say is listen to the pro's on the board. They have the knowledge and expertise to guide all of us in the right direction.

Sorry for rambling - I just love meeting new boxer owners and talking about my girl:D :D :D

I'm sure I'll be listening a lot to the pro's around here! Charlie is really getting acclimated to the house now, he's been getting into a lot of mischief today! wackicon

Yes I do have a couple of pics of Stella...I just don't know how to put them into my profile like you all did! Alas...woe is me...and to think I am a manager of a major electronics retail company and deal with computers daily! What I'm saying is...my not being able to figure it out just yet MUST be our little secret  If you or anyone can help me on this, I'd appreciate it...Thanks.

I found how to put the avatar in by accident yesterday. The graphic can't be bigger than 65x65 pixels or 9000 bytes. When you have that, click on the "User cp" button toward the top of the page. Then click on Edit Profile (I believe that's the one). Scroll down and you can add your custom avatar.

If I remember correctly, those were the steps I took to get it in there. I hope it helps!
