Hello, I'm the proud new mommy of Tucker, born March 10th. We love him madly (it's crazy to realize how quickly you grow to love them). My Sam of almost 14 years passed away last January and was VERY missed. I didn't think that I was going to be ready for another for a very long time, but the void in my life was to big! We picked him up two weeks ago and love having a new member of the family. I'm also looking forward to hearing what everyone else has to say about their boxers.

Welsome to BW, your going to LOVE it here!!

How did you pick the name "Tucker"? I'm just curious b/c a friend of mine has a boston terrier named Tucker and its b/c her gandmother said he looked like he was wearing a Tuxido... I thought it was cute... and I really like the name!

Wow- I can't believe I already have responses..how fun!!

The naming process involved everyone I know. I was constantly asking people what their dog's names were and I even had a list that I kept on my counter for people to "submit" names. My last dog that I adopted was named Sam (he came with that one and it fit him) but I was excited to name my next dog. I have a habit of calling my dogs a million different nicknames, so I was looking for a name that had a built in nickname (tuck). My father actually came up with Tucker. It was on the "short list" along with wyatt, oliver, huckleberry, mugsy, and murphy. We loved tucker and it fit because he was so "tuckered out" when we got him. Now it takes everything I have to tucker him out. But that's the long answer for how we got the name. My dad said it just popped into his head:)

Hey neighbor

Hey Neighbor: I'm in NH.. but have only live in NE for 5 years this June
I'm new to this BW site too.. I moved here from Ca, NE un like Ca has 4 seasons who knew there were so many<G> Our Boxer Riley who turned 2 in Dec and he has been Great although he has had a few health issues going on and Tomorrow (Thursday) he has another surgery to remove another lump this time on his shoulder ./ I wouldn't trade him for anything. he is just so funny and such a character..as I'm sure your boy Tucker will be..

I was thinking "tuckered out" might have had something to do with it. Harley just looked like a Harley to me, but Tucker almost became an option once we got him home and he slept all afternoon... cute!

Its interesting to see where we all come up with the names for our furkids!

I was so crazed when I brought him home. He slept for hours and hours! I even called the vet and said, "is he supposed to be this tired...is something wrong!" Now I look back on those first few days and think how much I miss my own sleep:) He's takes a lot of effort to tucker out now...but its effort given lovingly and willingly:)
