Boxer Buddy
Looking for any suggestions to help us introduce George (our 7 1/2 yr brindle boxer) to the newest addition to the family,Max (a 10 week old brindle). We are picking Max up next Saturday and we are all very excited but nervous about introducing George. Also, any suggestions about traveling with Max-it will be a 3 1/2 hr drive home with him. By the way, I never got around to posting about George but he is now recovering from TTA surgery for his torn ACL's and miniscus. He is now almost 5 weeks post op from the first surgery and almost 3 weeks post op from his second. He is doing so well-it is great to see him up and around again-and with such spunk!!

Boxer Insane
I had a three hour drive when I got Arabella. I had taken a soft toy with me on a previous trip down to leave there and pick up the litters scent so she had a familiar scent for her transition and not be so stressed. If you can't drive it to to the new pup, fedex it. I brought a basket with a fresh towel to line it put Arabella and her toy in it and she slept almost the whole way home. I also made sure the basket had handles that I could run a seat belt thru to keep it from sliding around.

As for the older pup transitioning it took us a couple of days to teach Thor that Arabella wasn't a toy to be pawed. We just supervised them and with in a few days they were chasing one another and playing tug of war with their toys. That was fun to watch since the main toy they fought over was a duck that was bigger than Arabella!
