Hi everyone. Greetings from Southern Ohio. I am now on my second attempt to house three male boxers with the arrival of a five week old pup a few days ago. My eldest male happens to be his father though and he's a great dad. Trouble seems to be brewing with the younger boxer though, just as it did when I brought HIM into the family. Any ideas please forward to me!!!

Welcome to Boxerworld! We probably don't live too far apart. I'm in Ky., your southern neighbor!

I'm not forsure what you mean by "on my second attempt to house three male boxers". Could you clarify?

Its not uncommon for intact males not to want to get along.

The pup you just brought home is too young to be away from mom and littermates at 5 weeks of age. Puppies need to stay with littermates & mom to be taught proper bite inhibination, pack social order traits, etc. Responsible breeders never allow puppies to leave prior to 8 weeks of age. (prefered age is 9-10 weeks).

Many states have a 8 week min age requirement, but I'm not forsure about Ohio.

All of my other boxers have come home at 10 or 12 weeks, but the owner of this one were calling me everyday to get him out. I don't know why but I took him so that I knew he'd be safe and end up with me. I know what the age requirement is and about the 8 week law, but I felt that his father would step in where his mother left off and I was correct.

My second attempt means that my first two boxers were littermates who came home to us at 10 weeks of age. They were a package deal because they were the "best of buds", until right before their first birthday we brought home a 12 week old male boxer. Shortly after they turned one, the two brothers proceeded to literally try to kill each other on a regular daily basis. I finally found a boxer lover to take one of the brothers off of my hands and adopt him to live in her house with her female boxer. I'm afraid the same thing will happen in this go round.
