Neutersol???

Has anybody heard of this product?? it is a shot into each of the puppies testicles, instead of traditional neutering surgery??? it was recommended by my vet when I once again insisted on no ACE, which is there preffered sedative.. and was looking for feed back on this product... the only thing I have found so far is http://www.neutersol.com/ Thanks for any feedback anyone has.

I would say a big NO. My vet did one of my pet pups with this product. The pup was a little older, but way in the recommended time frame. The poor dog was actually in so much more pain than a standard neuter would have caused. It took twice as long to be feeling good compared to removal of the testicles.

The other reason I don't like it is that it only makes sure the dog will not produce sperm, but still has all of the hormones that cause male problems. In other words, he will still be girl crazy if a bitch comes in season down the road and will still chase the girls and try to breed.

So, I would say nope and go with the traditional neuter.

I gotta tell you, from your description, it sounds horrible. I'd just do the surgery, it's not that big of a deal if both testicles are descended.

We used it at a vet clinic I internshiped at. On all of our puppy neuters. The only thing that isnt good about it is the testicles are still there to be a possible threat to cancer. Everything else thought is ok. =)

Thanks for the info... it's definatly worth looking into, for not having surgery... I think I will do some more research and check with another vet, since I am not happy with the reply I got about ACE from my current vet.
