I`m not from California so I can`t really help you too much with info on that but if you contact the humane society in your area they maybe able to tell you of a low cost spay/neuter clinic close to your area.

A word of advice.... when and if you decide to neuter.... be sure to use an e-collar. My vet offered me one but since Harley was neutered on a Friday I thought well I will stay with him for the first 3 days and watch closely.

So a week and 3 days later..... he's licked himself into a trip to the emergency vets office. I thought during play time yesterday he busted open the stitches. That was not the case he had a pocket of pus that formed because of his licking while I was at work. I would make him stop every time I saw him licking. The vet had to lance it back open to drain and now he's on anti-biotics and must wear an e-collar for 10 days.

If I would have known this I would have insisted on the e-collar to begin with. $20.00 added to the price of the neutering would have been well worth it.
