I have a beautiful 3-year old fawn, neutered male looking for a home in Colorado. Home inspection will be required. Diesel is housebroken and is the typical loving and sweet boxer. Our reason for finding him another home is that he and our English bulldog totally dislike one another (started by the bulldog) and the fights are becoming more frequent. This is not fair to Diesel and Lucy has been here longer. I will glady email pictures if you would like to see this beautiful boy.

Your email addy was edited out because it is against BW rules to post personal information:

posting of private/personal information: we encourage you to keep personal information personal. Please do not post name, email address or phone number when you write a message, even if it is yours. There is no way for us to check if the phone number is yours and we do not have the time to look at your profile to check if the email address you posted is yours. People can contact you by clicking the email or the pm buttons.

Have you considered consulting with a behaviorist to see what they have to say about the fights and what might be causing them? It could be something that can be fixed with some training and patience.

Have you looked into having a rescue help you with placing the dog? Placing a dog yourself can become a sticky situation if you don't know about the proper paperwork and such. Here is a thread as an example of what can happen when placing a dog yourself:

Sorry, my first post and I already made a boo boo. It has been corrected. I have contacted the top boxer rescue for Colorado and they are full up. I will be posting notices at the vet's office today. There is nothing I can do to keep these dogs apart and this decision has been made in the best interests of Diesel. We already have one dog that lost an eye to Lucy and we don't want to see anything more happen. Giving Lucy up is not an option. We have had her for 8 years and, good or bad, we will stick with her until the end. We rescued Diesel a year ago and we feel he deserves a loving home without all the tension.

Do you think you could ask them to help you in placing Diesel to insure that he goes to a wonderful home but Diesel would remain in your home until he was placed? Some rescues will do this and I know the rescues I work with have no problems helping in situations like this. A volunteer might come out to your house to meet with Deisel, meet with you to learn more about him and take some pics of him to post on the website.

This way you will play a part in placing him and you will be able to benefit from all the awesome resources of the rescue org. while Diesel remains in your home.

Diesel

Diesel will definitely be staying with me until the perfect home is found. I can't see him staying in a foster home. I already have pictures I can email to those interested. I will be contacting Hobo Boxer Rescue later today to complete the application.

Thanks for all of your help!

OK, now I am confused :p

So you are going to have the rescue help you with placing him but he is going to stay in your home? That is what I was suggesting and am sorry if I wasn't clear on my point. That happens sometimes :)

Hi Cash's mom! I also have a brindle named Cash. My bulldog does just fine with him for some reason. We live in Florissant which is 2 hours south of Denver and an hour northwest of Colorado Springs. If you live in Colorado and are interested, we can talk about bringing him to see you. I will be doing a home inspection and will require a vet's reference to ensure he is going to the best of homes. I would love for him to find a home with another boxer. He will miss Cash terribly.

Unfortunately, I live in Nevada, and can't get the S.O. to approve a 2nd dog YET.

I have a ton of family in CO, my sisters father-in-law is in Grand Junction, and is a boxer lover and has three now. I could see if he would be interested?!?! I also have family in Pueblo, and friends in Denver.

Is Diesel good with kids/cats? How old is he? I could make some phone calls, I can't make any promises, but would be glad to inquire.. Yay to you for going through an extensive application process.

Jennifer, thank you for your encouragement! It breaks my heart to give him up and I wouldn't do it if it weren't the best thing for him. Diesel is neutered and 3 years old. He is housebroken and quite a lovebug. He does the wiggle woo woo very well! I have someone interested in him now and she is coming over tomorrow night. She does not have a boxer and I would prefer he go to a home with another boxer if possible or someone with boxer experience so let me know as soon as possible if any family members or friends are interested. If you provide me with your email address, I will email pictures of my beautiful boy.
