I have a 1 yr old white boxer, Baxter and 4 month old twins. Still getting used to the babies being around and having to keep everything out of reach of my puppy. Tonight I had to go out for a short time and when I got back Baxter had eaten vaseline, baby oil and ripped up diapers. He tried to eat Desitin but that didn't work out for him. We began leaving him out of the crate 3 weeks ago and now all of the sudden yesterday (he tore one of my cushions on my loveseat) and today he is acting out.

Could someone please help...how dangerous is it that he ate vaseline and baby oil?? Thank you very much!!!!!!

Well since they are oil based and no other chemicals in there. If there was not an immediate reaction to it i would say he will be ok but i am not a vet. But keep a close eye on him to be sure. IF you see him become lethargic or vomiting excessively then i would take him in

I think he will be ok. He will probably have some trouble with loose bowels for a couple days. Any other changes in his normal behavior, and I would take him to the vet. My Bubbieroo is almost two years old, but we still crate him when we leave him alone. He's a dandy, but you can't trust the little stinker five minutes by himself.

I agree. Just look for any change in behavior or a sick tummy. My guys are mostly crated while I am gone too-just not sure they can be trusted :) Hope your pup is fine

I hope he is ok.

I agree those bowls are going to be very loose and slippery

Thank you all very much for your replies!!! He seems to be doing fine other than a little loose bowel movement. I went in the yard with him this morning and he started to run around and we played as usual!! I think, unfortunately, that he's going to have to go back in the crate though. Again, thank you!!!!

Glad to hear he is ok. We had Luke crate trained too. Then we started trusting him and leaving him out of the crate when he was about 1 He was doing really well for about 2 years then we moved to a new house. We had to pull out the old crate again b/c he was chewing up the door after we left. I think it was just an adjustment period. He's all better now....I hope ;)
