I am just not handling having a puppy well. I thought it out so much and we did so much research but with 3 kids I am overwhelmed and I cannot do it anymore. I want her to go to a wonderful family who will love her forever. We are near Boise, Idaho. Please is there anyone out there? I cannot give her to just anyone...

I'm sorry it's not working out. :( Puppies are hard work, the first few months especially.

If you got her from a reputable breeder then you need to give her back to the breeder.

im sorry u feel its not working out but i would advise giving it enough time before giving up. puppies are hard at the start but the joy they bring to your life is amazing!

it takes time to get used to a little dog in the house but you owe it to yourself and to HER tokeep trying. If this fails maybe she would be better off with a family would can take care of her and give her the attention she needs.

I think we are gonna hang in there. It has just been a tough couple days. I love her and we will make it work!

Good for you! Everybody goes through those rough days, I know I still do! Remember, if you have any questions or need any advice the people here at BW are more than willing to help. :)

If it makes you feel better when we got Dakota he was about 9 1/2 weeks old and at that time my kids were 6 and 3 years old and he is the first dog i've ever owned and for those first couple weeks when I was getting up a few times each night and he was chasing the kids pant legs around to the point of them not wanting to be around him, I asked myself more then once "what was I thinking?!". I had been wanting a boxer for years and years and we could finally afford one so we got him and I found myself overwhelmed and sort of regretting it.. thinking maybe I should have waited until the kids were older but a few more weeks passed and he calmed down, stopped attacking the kids pants and wasn't nipping anymore and we could fully enjoy him. We've had him since January of this year and he'll be a year old in a little less than a month and I couldn't imagine him not being here. He is my almost 4 year olds absolute best friend and will let her do anything to him. He is my 7 year olds favorite playmate. He is so sweet, happy, goofy and my husband and I couldn't be more happy to have him. It'll get better as she gets a little older and you'll be asking yourself how could you have ever thought of giving her up. Good luck! :)

Puppy Regret.
You are not the first person to go through this. Puppies are overwhelming. Add Boxer to the mix and you can certainly wonder what the in world you were thinking and what have you gotten yourself into!

Take a deep breath and remember that every day will be better than the last. This isn't to say that you may not have more issues to deal with every day or even different issues that need addressed as time goes by but YOU will get better at reacting to them.

I'm glad to see that you are giving it another try. If you can remember to pace yourself, educate yourself and remember that when puppies are given what they need they grow up to be exceptional adults and true members of the family.

Glad to hear it appicon Puppies will REALLY test your patience... but the end result (a well-rounded adult dog) will make it all worthwhile. Hang in there and you'll be very glad that you did!
