I have been searching for an alternative to Hill's Science diet prescription food for my dog who just had bladder stones removed. My vet gave us the Hill's s/d, but I want to try to get the best possible food so I am still searching. Here is the thing...

I have found where Royal Canin has prescription diet food so I was excited because I know they are discussed on BW as a top quality food. Well, after looking at the ingredient lists for the food I am confused. By-products? I thought that was a definate no-no when looking for a premium food?

I am still very new to learning about nutrition for dogs. We have had our dogs on Wellness for months now and we have been thrilled with that. I want to continue our baby on a premium food. The links below are to the Royal Canin Prescription food ingredients. I would appreciate any help or advice.
Thank you.
