Hello all

I have 2 boxer pupies both 10 weeks old they are brother and sister. My question is they have had there 9 weeks shots and now my brother got in to it with his girlfriend and now had to move in to my house and he has a 7 week old pit/mastiff mix that has fleas I know of I dont see worms in his POOO but not sure if he has all the wormings and shots what should I do. my brother said he has had his shots but my brother is not always truthfull with me and he knows if he said that his dog had no shots I would have not let his dog in. so what im asking is my dogs at risk at 10 weeks mine have all there shots from 9 weeks?
and what is a good flea shampoo and is there a good yard spray that will not hurt my dogs I hate bugs.

Hi Rich,

First of all take a breath:) Firstly, not seeing any worms in his poo doesnt mean he doesnt have them, usually when they are that visible, it points to a worm burden. If it's been a couple of weeks since the last worming, do it again. Secondly, for fleas, I'd recommend using a once a month flea treatment such as Advantage or Program. Its safe to use on pups and controls all lifecycles of the flea. Good luck:)

Capstar

There is a great product called Capstar. It's pill. give it to the mixed pup and it will kill all the fleas on him. Spray the house and the yard. Then use a monthly treatment on him.
Good luck.

If the dog, as he says, has had his shots, there are records kept of this at the vet's office where the shots were administered. Ask him where he got the dog his shots and call and ask for the vaccinations the dog has already received.

If your dogs are current on their shots, there probably is little to worry about other than the worm/flea issue and that is fairly easily remedied.

Once you've determined that the Rottie is up to date on his shots or not, you can then take him to your own vet and have what needs to be done taken care of.

Good luck.
