Sheba ( my parents girl) is not a good traveler , she gets sick every time she goes in the car no matter how short the journey, first thing this morning they brought her to the vet which is only about 3 miles away just for shots she had not eaten from the night before but still got sick ..

You could also try Rescue Remedy. You might find it in a Natural Pet Store on in a Health Food store. It may not be much consolation now, but they will usually grow out of it. Both Tara and Allie would throw up in the car as pups. They both stopped as they got older.

I hope she grows out of it , it would be a shame for her to miss out and not be able to go places , it's an almost brand new car so the smell of doggie would not be good !!

Try gingersnap cookies. The ginger helps to settle the tummy. Our girl got carsick alot. I read about them helping carsickness but didn't really think it would help. It did! She never got carsick again when she had the gingersnaps. I would give her two cookies about 20 minutes before getting in the car.

Ginger is definitely good at settling the tummy. I never thought to giving gingersnaps. Good idea. :)

Ginger is as effective an antiemetic (anti nausea) as prescription stuff they give to cancer patients who throw up from all the other meds they are given (I.e. The strongest stuff available.) I can't tell you how many times I have been saved by gin gin's (a candy that has a large amount of real ginger, which is often sold at health food stores) after having too much to drink the night before.
