need help

I live in vermont and got a call from very nice Lady that has spotted a small female boxer running lose in and around her office. I am willing to foster her and take her in and find a good home for her.

Here is the problem we can not catch her. We know were she is sleeping. and we have laid out 4 blankets for her to keep warm. A very nice Lady is putting out food and hot water for her.I will be take my boxer out later today to see if she might come up to him. I was talking to her today but I was 8 yds away she did stop and listen to me. I am trying to gain her trust.

If you move in to close to fast she runs. The nights are very cold and today they are calling for snow or rain.

Can some give me help on how to catch her? She really need to get out of the cold soon. Thank you for listening

What about toys? Maybe she knows how to fetch? Great smelling food? I sure hope you can catch her.

that is good idea I will try the toy we have try all kinds of food she will eat it if we put it down and leave it. She has a lump on her leg and she is now limping. I hope I can get her later. it is going down to the 20 or lower tonight.

I had a friend almost get her with cheese burgers but she is fast

I had almost the same situation once and i did what you said..I took my dog out and the other boxer did come up to him. I was able to slip a lead over his head and luckily he just gave up. We fed him and later that evening after a nice bath he snuggled with me on the sofa. I found him a happily ever after home! If I lived near i'd come help..:(

She may have medical issues that cause her to act this way as well.
Not knowing any history of this boxer I personally would not expose my boxer to her.
I would try and round up some people to try and close in on her and see if that will work...
You could also contact a vet and see if they could give you some meds that may make her a lil woosy to put it in the food you leave her and then come back and check on her to see if she has ate it etc...then you can obtain her easily with less stress for her and you.
I would just be concerned that she could have rabies or something seriously wrong and you should do this with a lot of caution.
If you are able to catch her I would take her straight to a vet for a complete exam before anything else. Although a boxer she can be unpredictable.

I'm sorry I can't offer any assistance in helping to get her. I wish I were closer so I could do so. Please do keep us posted on her, it breaks my heart to think of the poor baby out in the cold.

naomi, the stranger hater was instantly my friend when i started throwing hot dog bits her way! mince up a package and rub some on your hands. Then start throwing them bringing the dog closer each time! boxers luuuvvv hot dogs!

We have not caught her yet It was 17 out last night I know were she is sleeping and 13 people when to go siround her but she found a new spot to sleep in last night and today she has been running and hideing very well today. I make sure to feed her very well and in the same spot two times a day. I have tried for 6 hr today to get and no luck maybe later

we have tried hot dogs she will get about 4 feet from us and thats it. We have tried cheese burgers that did not work. I have tried my dog and she is very interrested but would not come up to us. I am at a dead end right now I am going to stop chaseing her and get to know her patterns and try to set up a trap. thank god it is only going to be in the 40 or fiftys this week.
