need help

hey everyone... well my boy bailey has some thing wrong.. not srue what but we're taking him to the vet tomorrow hopefully. we might be making too much out of it BUT.. i need some input please..
right around when it started to get real hot around here in the midwest i noticed that he had like a couple of scabby bumps.. he had like 3 on his head and he had 2 on his right jowl .. i've been thinking nothing of it cause there's a pup next door and they rough house pretty heavy so i figure its from the younger dog pullin @ his cheeks and stuff.. just rough house stuff.. well today i noticed that he had 2 more .. theyre no bigger than half of a pencil eraser.. and these ones looked like little patches of dry skin.... that are raised up a little bit.. dog dandruff???..
I just basically dont know what to think.. my neighbor moves tomorrow son in a couple of days we'll really see if it was humphrey his buddy or if its something else.... i'm just kinda well worried.. i'm a first time dog/boxer owner and i notice EVERYTHING wrong or not wrong w/ him.. haha.. just tryin to be a good daddy.. .. well thanx all for readin..

I'm not sure what it could be. A trip to the vet would probably be a good idea. Better safe than sorry. Hopefully it will be nothing.

Could be some kind of allergy or bugbites. Seems unlikely it's cancer as there are so many that are popping up so quickly. But I would still see the vet just to be sure.... keep us posted

I remember when my female had a litter, when they were 4-5 weeks old, they had something similar and it turned out to be some type of mites. It was something common but I don't remember exactly what they're called. I just had to put a cream on and they soon went away. I hope it's something simple like that. Good luck.

it might also be demodex. My pup had it and it started like that around her face. Make sure your vet does a scrape to find out...Hope your baby gets better.

My puppy has the same thing! We just got him on Friday (5/28), and I noticed 2 of them on top of his head...


We're taking him to the vet this week also, but be sure to reply after you find out from yours!!! I hope it's nothing serious!

Not our boxer but our winnie dog Rowdy, had a bump pop up on the top of his head. Did not think a thing about it. Thought it was a zit or something. Then 2, then 5, then 10, then the vet. It was demodex. Not saying that's what it is! But if, you need to know now. the sooner it gets under control, the better.

Farley had the same thing after eating a certain brand of dog food. It broke out his whole face in what was basicially acne. After some treatment w/antibiotic and a topical spray he was fine. But your mention of flakiness is different than Farley's and seems to lean more toward demodex. But as always that's just a suggestion...I agree your vet should do a scrape.

A while back we had a female who had what you've described. We didn't think it was anything - waited - it kept getting worse. When we took her to the vet she had demodectic mange. It is treatable, but the sooner your vet can diagnose and begin treatment the better. The longer you wait the more it spreads - the more it spreads the harder it is to treat.

GOOD LUCK! Hopefully that's not what it is...but hopefully it's nothing worse than that either.

Oscar has the same thing right now. He's had bumps like this in the past, as a puppy they told him it was puppy acne, but after reading all these posts I made a vet appointment. Is next week too long to wait? I haven't noticed them getting worse, he has one on his eye brow and on his chin.
