Zeena has a rip in the tip of her ear from a scuffle at doggie day care. It's been months now and it won't heal. We've been to the vet who has given us bactroban ointment, didn't work. Steroidal powder which works to stop the bleeding but every time she shakes her head it opens up and bleeds again. We are at the end of our rope. Don't know what to do? Skin Glue? Another Vet? Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone been through this? HELP PLEASE! We really don't want to put her under for surgery to cut the ear tip, even then, I'll have to take a week off from work to "keep her quiet" which I could do now and have no surgery and maybe tape her ear. We've even tried Bandaids. Don't know what to do!!!!! Thanks, Lisa

I know a guy who used that liquid stitch on his cat who had a VERY bad cut/skin flap from a tussle. It worked very well on the cat and it was good as new, so maybe you could consult your vet about that?

I've never used it on myself or an animal so it's just a suggestion to look into. either way, good luck.

Super glue. Seriously. I've had vets use it when stitches don't want to hold. Emergency rooms will even use it. There's some on my boxer right now. He had a lump removed from his leg and the stitches the vet put in weren't holding and the incision was opening up. It wasn't bleeding, but itwasn't going to heal properly that way so I glued it back together and then put a little across the top of the whole incision to keep it from coming apart again. Try it!

Check with your vet but I too used the liquid "bandaid" on my pup's ear and it did the trick. Good luck

yup as others have said the liquid bandaid should do the trick...

My great grandma used to use super glue on me when I was little if done right it leaves little to no scar.

Of course double check with your vet but it works on me sooooo LOL

In the winter my DH fingers will split. He uses super glue and it works great. I have also used liquid bandaid and it works.

This happened to our first boxer boy he got his ear ripped by another dog, maybe it was worse than your girls but the vet gave us no option other than stitches - it was a quick op and it never gave him any trouble with the stitches in.

My DH does this too!

We use super glue for all our cuts. Never heard of it for animals though. If it works for us why not use it on them.
