I have been feeding my puppy pedigree puppy not knowing about good dog foods. i want to switch her to natural balance because its the easiest to find in my area. I have a couple questions. i am feeding her 4 cups a day now of the pedigree and she is putting on some weight finally. how much of the natural balance would i need to feed her and are there any certain types of natural balance i should look for.

Yes you should gradually switch her over a 7-10 day period. How much you will start feeding of the NB will depend on her weight and age so I can't help you there. From there if she's losing weight you can add 1/4 of a cup for a few weeks and see how she does, if she's gainin too much weight you can reduce by 1/4 of a cup and see how she does. I will say I doubt you will be feeding 4 cups a day of NB.

I personally feed my 2 year old 67 pound boy Natural Balance Fish and sweet potato and he eats 3 cups per day. My girl is 8-9 years old is 62 pounds and eats 2 cups a day.

I am not familiar with natural balance as far as how much you will need to feed. With it being a much higher quality food than pedigree you will be feeding less of it. (My guess would be between 2-3 cups per day) if you read the bag of food it will tell you how much to feed according to your dog's weight and age.

And you should make the change gradually over a weeks time gradually adding more of the new food and less of the old. Start out with about 25% new, 75% old for a couple days, then half and half for a couple days, 75% new, 25% old and then finally all new. Good luck to you and your new dog.

You'll most likely need to feed her less, since it's a higher quality food. Check the bag's feeding recommendation for her suggested weight, and go from there. The bag's suggestions tend to be on the high side of feeding generally.

As for switching the food, yes it is highly recommended to slowly mix the food over. Usually about 7-10 days. Maybe longer, maybe shorter. All depends on the dog. Start with a small % of the new food. So like 75% old food, 25% new food. As days go by, increase the new food and reduce the old food until fully onto the new food.

Tyson is 6 months old and i feed him Natural Balance. He likes the fish and sweet potatoes. I feed him 3 cups a day. He eats 1 1/2 cups in the morning at 5am. He eats another 1 1/2 cups for his dinner at 430pm. I have noticed since he started to eat the Natural Balance which has only been 2 weeks, he doesnt have alot of gas anymore.
