Idk what im doing wrong with my puppy, he gets lots of love and attention but now we have tried to start training him to go use the bathroom outside and hes so stuborn that he wont he will wait till he gets home to use the bathroom and hes usually really good about going on his pads in the house but now it seems that he just goes where he wants. He just started making a mess of my living at night he used to not do that but i understand that boxers do that but maybe someone can give me some tips please and thank you

You discovered the downfall of potty pads. For tiny dogs, maybe these are somewhat helpful. But to most dogs, this actually teaches them to potty in their living environment. And to have a fully housetrained dog, you have to train them twice - on the pads and then off the pads to outside. It's really best to skip the pads unless you just can't take them out because you aren't there to do so.

I would suggest always taking him out on leash and going to a specific spot every time. Remind "go potty" and wait. and wait. And when he finally does his biz, then have a heck of a pee-pee party! Lots of high voiced praises, a treat, pet on the head and then a little play session. Going potty should be the most exciting thing imaginable!

Taking him on leash makes sure of several things:
1. He can't go or do anything until he potties.
2. You can check to make sure he is fully emptying his bladder.
3. Can't praise if you aren't there to see it happen
4. You can check stools for any irregularities
5. Eventually he will learn going out on leash to that particular spot to go potty and get lots of happy praise! He will automatically go and do his biz upon command.

The most common indicators of a needed potty break is, after naps/sleep, after meals, after a drink session, after a play session, really any time fluid goes in or excitement goes up. Each time praising the heck out of him.

If accidents happen in the house, do not punish the pup. This will only confuse him, especially since he was taught to potty in the house. If you catch him in the process, give an "ah-ah" sharply and immediately take him out to finish. If you find a puddle after the fact, clean it thoroughly and with an enzymatic cleaner to void any residual stain that may entice him to go there again. Chalk that puddle up to you being lax in getting him out at an appropriate potty break.

Sticking to a schedule will help tremendously. A feeding schedule. Sleep schedule. Play schedule. etc. This way you will be able to log and predict his potty patterns and can adjust your schedule to them to help with training.

I've had the best luck with tethering my pups to me when out of the crate. If they even looked like they were sniffing, I'd take them out right away and wait until they did something. Really didnt take them long to "get it"

You could try to bring a pad outside too. Just to get the ball rolling, and eventually eliminate the pad.

I have tried to take the pad outside but he still wont use it. No matter how long we stay outside he refuses to use the bathroom and now at home hes not even using the pads hes just giong where he pleases or he will poop on the pads but pee on the floor somewhere else lol. I think hes just very lazy but if there are any other tip or opinions im open for them.

You might want to try taking the poop and putting it in the spot that you want him to use (pee on paper towels also). When you know he has to go (this is why the schedule is so important), walk him to the spot and wait until he goes. You may have to use a longer lead than usual, some do not like being on a short lead when pottying.

Sometimes it is a bit of a battle of the wills with training to a spot or even outside pottying but they do get it if you are patient and diligent. :)

Please don't take offense, but the pup isn't lazy, it's the humans that do not recognize good potty times and when they are necessary.

You will have to go back to potty training 101 like I described above and stick to it. It may take a week or two of you taking him out leashed, and consistantly every 20-30 minutes for him to learn the routine.

If you keep allowing him to potty in the house, it's just reinforcing it each and every time. If you can't watch him, then shrink his access. Allow him only in the room you are in and watch him. If you can't watch him, then in the crate he goes - AFTER A POTTY BREAK and another break IMMEDIATELY after taking him out of the crate. If you are still having issues, then highly suggest tethering him to you on about a 5 ft leash that way you can't forget to check him for signals of needing to go out.

I honestly think going back to diligent basic training will get you results.

Having rescues, who pottied wheverever they were on the streets, or even in the shelter kennels, they learn to accept pottying in their living environment. Some never become truly housebroken. But, with diligent basics, many outside dogs learn pretty quickly to potty outside and not inside the house.

if you catch him peeing or pooping inside, tell him AhhhhTTTT!!! or NOOOOO! while he's starting to pee or poop. Grab him, take him out side and try to get him to pee poop. If he does, praise and/or give treats. You should not punish or scold him if you don't catch him in the act.. he will not understand what it is for and it will not do any good.

It will be hard to break the pee/poop inside routine if you don't catch him in the act of doing it inside and inform him that it is wrong...

training

I think its just a phase. Mya was about 90 percent housetrained by 6 months, then around 7 months she regressed and starting going inside again. I just did a refresher training for a couple weeks and she got out of it and no problems since. she is 2-1/2 now
