Our dogs currently eat Canidae, which has worked out GREAT for them. However, I have to get it from a specialty feed store that is out of the way, and doesn't have good hours on the weekends. There is a nearby local business that sells BARF foods, as well as super premium kibbles. They don't carry Canidae, but have: Wellness, Solid Gold, Innova, Eagle Pack, Flint River Ranch, etc..

I'm thinking of gradually switching the dogs over to one of the following foods:

WELLNESS (Super5Mix Chicken)
Ingredients: Deboned Chicken, Ground Barley, Oatmeal, Rye Flour, Menhaden Fish Meal, Whitefish, Ground Brown Rice, Ground Millet, Canola Oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols), Flaxseed, Amaranth, Peas, Carrots, Whole Sweet Potatoes, Whole Apples, Whole Blueberries, Whole Clove Garlic, Alfalfa Leaf, Yucca Schidigera, Lactobacillus Plantarum, Enterococcus Faecium, Lactobacillus Casei, Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Inulin, Fructose, Glucosamine, Chondroitin Sulfate, Beta-Carotene, Potassium Chloride, Zinc Proteinate (a chelated source of Zinc), Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Sulfate, Vitamin E Supplement, Copper Proteinate (a chelated source of Copper), Copper Sulfate, Niacin Supplement, Manganese Sulfate, Manganese Proteinate ( a chelated source of Manganese), Sodium Selenite, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Vitamin A Acetate, Riboflavin Supplement, Calcium Iodate, Vitamin B-12 Supplement, Vitamin D-3 Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamine Mononitrate, Folic Acid.

Solid Gold Holistique Blendz Adult Dog (fish)

Can I get some opinions from you experts, as to which food is better?

Thanks.

Boxer Booster
I feed wellness fish and sweet potato, and both pups have been doing very well on it. If your's is doing well on canidea you might want to see about ordering it online maybe from JB's and having it shipped to your home.

Thanks for the input.

Another question I have relates to the main ingredient of these foods: Fish or Chicken or Beef? How do I know which is better for my dogs (or is it all the same)?

Can anyone answer in general terms, which main ingredient is better for the Boxer?

Thanks again

I think these are all good protein ingrediants as long as your baby is not allergic to them. I even suggest switching from one meat source to another every few months or so just to give them some variety so that they don't develop an allergy to one of the meat sources.

Thanks to both of you for the input.

They are gradually being switched over to Wellness Super5Mix Chicken. I'm blending it 50/50 with their remaining Canidae, but so far they seems to LOVE IT.

I may switch it up every few months with the Wellness Fish & Sweet Potato, for some variety.

Thanks again!
