Tae only has a couple places and you'd hardly know she has mange. I have noticed two new spots--both small--bringing her total to 6 now, so I will need to call the vet about this. I'm uncertain as to how I want to proceed for several reasons. First, I am going out of town from July 2-4 and would prefer to hold off on meds until I return. The vet strongly recommended I not board Tae, so a neighbor has agreed to take care of her. Tae and my neighbor's dog enjoy playing (well, actually Tae bosses her around!). Second, I work in drug safety and the possiblity of toxic side effects really concerns me. It appears oral medication (Ivermectin) is safest, but then I've read threads on BW that it's best to avoid meds altogether and treat with supplements and extras in kibble. This may sound funny, but I plan to discuss this with a friend at work who's a physician assistant and possibly with another work-friend who's SIL is a vet. I like my vets and highly respect them, but I just feel kinda overprotective!
