Hi. I just received a 5lb. sample bag of Natures Variety Prairie Lamb & Rice. It seems like a great food but the Canola Oil is preserved with Citric Acid. I feed Ali Merrick dry mixed with a couple tbsp. of the canned Merrick each feeding. Is it okay to mix the canned Merrick with the Natures Variety w/o causing problems? thanks. Maureen

Yes, it's fine :)

Citric acid is a perfectly good naturally occuring preservative. It is only a problem is you pre-soak the food in water before feeding. Adding a little canned food does not constitute pre-soaking in water.
