Natural ears that bleed and scab at tips

That was very imformative April, I was especially concerned about the part you said which I had read before about the tips of their ears not being recoverable. Bingo's ears are very clean and not red and don't smell, but he literally groans in pleasure when I rub them. I will definately start rubbing them to see if that helps. Also most of the times when he wakes up after a while, espeically in the morning, he wants to rub his face,ears and his chin on something soft. His little chin has so many wrinkles on it I always tell him he looks like a little old man! But I bet yeast can get trapped in all those wrinkles too! The bumps on bingo's head, came off and it only took like 2 weeks to get the hair back and you can't tell they were there.

Boy, i tell you, these Boxers!!!! From Bingo's ears to his teeth problem (his gums are growing over his teeth) to all the things these guys get, and last night he just started to limp for no reason, then went out and was fine! I'm surprised I'm not a mess from worrying so much!!!!!!!:rolleyes: My Aun't Boxer also suddenly has a mysterious bump on his leg that just appeared since the holiday's and we were laughing at how many malodies these guys have!!! And most of the time they don't even know it as they stand there with no teeth, bumps on their head and ears bleeding holding a stuffed sqeaky toy!!!!! :p

I know about Boxers and all their weird stuff! Baxter got ringworm awhile back and we had to put him on medication to get rid of it. A few other boxer owners I know have had that same problem. A friend of mine from my neighborhood dog park had the ear tips bleeding problem and their vet told them about the yeast problem. Now-Baxter and my boyfriend's boxer end up with their jowls bleeding. It's not a lot, in fact I wouldn't notive it if they didn't sleep on my white duvet. But-I live in Colorado and I think they just got snow on them and then dry out and chap. Does anyone else have this problem?

Going back to the natural ears scabbing and bleeding, I noticed a few people that have mentioned their boxers getting little bumps, some of which look like pimples. My boxer puppy Takeo was getting little bumps on the inside of his ears (now he has them on the edges) that were "pimples". When we went to the vet I asked him about this and he said they were little puss pockets caused by too much heat and moisture being trapped in the pores. All he said to do to get rid of these "pimples" was to take warm soapy water and wash the ears then apply neosporin. Needless to say, it worked like a charm; within 24 hours the "pimples" had cleared up considerably.

Got it at the vet

Hi Shaun,
We did get the shampoo at the Vet's office, but I got the impression that it may be carried at some pet stores. I'm thinking not a PetSmart or PetCo, but maybe an independent store that carries more of the holistic foods.
I do have a question to those who eliminated fruits, grains, etc... from their dog's diet. . . We feed Montgomery Innova which is a holistic food, are you suggesting that I shouldn't give him his favorite treat, fresh green pepper slices? (Yes, that's right, he loves green pepper...isn't that random?)

Lots of trouble, but wouldn't trade my baby for anything in the world. I just always promise him that his Mama is going to make him feel better no matter what it takes!!

Generally above-ground veggies do not aggravate yeast, although root veggies are sometimes a problem.

However, eliminating snacks will do you no good if you continue to feed a grain-based kibble.

Like Julie said, it is only root veggies that seem to aggravate allergies We were feeding Lexi Innova and although an excellent food (as I still have 2 on it) it is still full of grains. They may be high quality grains but they are still grains none the less. Here is a website you may want to check out!

Thanks for all the excellent information, I forgot how useful this board is! I wiill be calling my vet to get some of the shampoo. And Lennox was born with a big "zit" by her nose. And I can attest that Neosporin works like a charm. Thanks again!
