Nail length??

How short should you cut toe nails? It seems if you cut too short then they bleed. Any recommendations?

In pink or clear nails, you should be able to see the vein or "quick" in the nail. Don't cut down to that or you baby will be bleeding. It's a lot harder to judge how much to cut on black nails because you can't see the quick. At first, I always managed to make Riley bleed (and what a mess!!!). I just started cutting a small bit at a time and doing it more often and I don't make her bleed anymore.

Can anyone recommend a good nail clipper because the one I have now is junk. It doesn't leave a clean cut. Its bad enough Bosco would pefer I don't do it at all.

We use a nail grinder for Molly and as long as she get some treat while we are doing it she is fine with it.
We tend to do it each week as well.
We like to keep them short so not much scratching and less chance of her getting it caught on something and hurting herself
