There are alot of threads in here on tumors, lumps, and bumps. Therefore, Im not going to go into what I should do, or who else has a similar problem. I would however like to find out if anyone has any pictures of these lumps and bumps.

About a year ago, my zoey formed a lump on her hind ankle. The doctor checked it out and diagnosed it as nothing to be concerned with. Shortly thereafter, another formed higher up on her leg. Relating it to the first, I ignored it. Big mistake. Now my vet is telling me that it might be cancer. Unfortunatly, I wont find out soon enough, so Im puttin out a plea to everyone to point me in the direction of some pictures so that I can at least compare my dogs lumps to other benign or malignant versions.

If anyone can point me to some URLs, Id be so appreciative.

thanks

Welcome to the board. How come you can't find out soon enough? Although I wish I had pictures of what cancerous lumps look like, but I doubt that it looks any different from a benign one. If identifying lumps by looks were only that easy, vets would be out of business.

I just brought my boxer home tonight from having a lump removed. He is ten years old and has had three lumps that have been removed over the years. One was cancerous and the other two (including the one today) have been fatty masses. The cancerous one was on his jaw and because we waited so long, he had to have a large portion of his jaw removed. He adapted just fine but since then, any lump I find, is immediately removed.

Basically, it could be either but you won't know for sure until you have it removed. Best of Luck!!!

Lumps

We have a boxer aged 12yr 8 months and he has had about 4 lumps. As soon as we have found them he has been to the vet to have them removed. We would never risk leaving them to see as they can grow very quickly - we had an Australian vet who was very experienced in cancerous lumps etc and he was amazed that we found the lumps so small but then he always has loads of hugs and kisses. Good luck with the vet and hope all goes well for you.

I too don't think anyone could diagnose from pictures alone.

My Monty developed four lumps on his head within the first 12 months of his life. Even though the vet didn't feel they were cancerous I had them removed. Thankfully they were not but who knows how they may have developed later.
Having been brought up with 5 boxers , all but one who developed cancerous lumps, I've learnt to be extreemly cautious.

I wish you and Zoey all the best and fingers crossed that the lump is just a lump and nothing more sinister.
