My pup Rambo is 5 months 1/2. He dosent really communicate
with me that much, like whinning, the famous woo-woo sound,
or a simple bark. Is he still young? Does this start at 7,8 months
or so? Just wondering.

Rambo is probably still too young to be woo wooing or barking alot. I don't think we heard our first woo woo until 8 or 9 months, but believe me at 2 1/2 it's fairly non-stop. LOL

Maximus whines and barks at the most weird things. He barks at something and there is nothing there. My husband and I have said that we might have a ghost in the house because Maximus is always barking at nothing. So we think,.. I really hope that he stops the whinning and the barking but we will see

All I can say is that I think you all are lucky your boxers talk to you...our rescue, Jazz, must have been punished for any sound because we don't (yet) get any woo wooing, whining, or anything else. The only time we have ever heard her bark is when she is outside guarding the fenceline from the one neighbor she doesn't like!

But it makes sense that ignoring a behavior you don't want would be the best way to make it go away.

I was just worried cos I thought she was upset or something!

To be honest, I think that maybe I don;t really understand the concept of woo wooing, can anyone explain it to me?

Lacey is 9 and she whins when she wants a treat. She usually does it when I'm on the phone or trying to talk to company....just like a child. :D If she's too annoying I will tell her to "go" to the other room. She's not much of a barker unless need be. She does woo woo. When she wants a treat very badly she will say mama. :)

Angel is almost 5 and she has whined about everything forever! She whines also when my husband and I hug. She whines when I talk to the baby. She wines just sitting there on the couch. She whines at the window even though she doesn't have to go out. We have just learned to live with it. She just thinks it's all about her! It usually is though so that's okay! God I love this dog she is so full of character!

You need to totally ignore him when he whines. Don't say anything, don't look at him or move. Eventually he will stop, because he gets no response. You can expect the whining to get worse before it gets better.

Good luck
