My tuggy bear....

He is getting tested for cardio myopathy today. I brought him in just for a appt, he had a little cough and I thought he had picked something up from the foster dog.

They listened to his heart, and didn't like what they heard. They wanted to do the test but said it wasn't a crashing emergency to get it done. I called DH and he said do it today.

Now I am sitting on the edge of my seat worried. What will life be like if he gets diagnosed with that disease. His full-brother has it also, but he was diagnosed as a little puppy.

If the vet comes up with something to be concerned about I highly recommend you get a second opinion from a cardiologist before you use any medication.

Our vet detected an irregular heartbeat in Cassius and mentioned about him going on medication. After seeing the cardiologist, at his recommendation, the cardiologist determined that the situation was not that serious and did not require medication unless it showed signs of getting worse. He only had the problem when he got excited.
