Hi, My name is Austin and I just wanted to tell you I finally got my Christmas present " a new boxer sister". Mom is doing the dishes and I have sneeked in here to the computer so I can tell all you guys about her.
They call her Jasmine and she came here for the 1st on Thursday night to play. Mom and me had worked in yard all day long and I was just dog-tired supervising her moving all the tree limbs from that ice storm a few weeks ago.
I really tried to get her to play but all she wanted to do was sniff around and see what was here. Nothing worked, not my best play bow, or play bark. Heck I couldnt even get her attention with my play poke. I was beganning to think this " sister " idea mom had was not such a big thing. After they left on Thur. night me and mom talked again and I had lots of dreams about a sister my size to run and play and play with so I woke up kinda excited on Friday. But much to my dissapointment noone was here but me , mom and my sister cat "Magic". Late Friday afternoon mom got another one of those calls, and boy was she excited, she started picking up all my toys and taking the trash out, so I knew we were having company again. And sure enought a little later Jasmine cam back to play with me. Cept she still wanted to sniff around more than play and she sure is interested in my sister cat " Magic". That must be a girl thing, I am thinking. Well while the people were her with Jasmine I saw mom signing some papers and she has been telling me, that Jasmine is my new sister. I really like Jasmine alot. I need to teach her to play more. And I have already been helping her do some words so she can get some treats like I do. I heard mom telling my favorite trainer that my sister would be in her next training class, Jasmine is so gonna love Sylvie, cause she is just the bestest trainer I have ever had. I let Jasmine sleep in my old crate, but I check on her all thru the night cause she is really quite. I keep telling Jasmine not to get to close to Magic cause she is a really weird sister kitty and she hisses alot. Mom made Jasmine her own food bowl, but I let her share my waterbowl and we can run thru the whole house together.

She is fawn with natural ears like mine.( I'm glad she is a lighter color than me so mom can tell us apart)
Her BD is May,4 2001 ( yea! a summer BD party)
She is almost as tall.
Her eyes are the most beautiful black eyes I have ever seem.
Oh no....she has my favorite squeeky....hey gimmie my squeeky...hey mom ...she has my toys....make her give em back....gimmie it....gimmie my squeeky now.....ok...lets tumble yea this sister thing gonna be fun

Austin you are so lucky to have a sister boxer!! All I get for now is a brother kitty and he was real mean to me when I came to live in my new home with my parents. He hissed and gave me whacks with his paws (he was nice enough not to use the sharp things though). I have tried all my best puppy bow moves on him and he just doesn’t want to play with me :( It has been about two months now and he has started to let me give him big boxer kisses on his face and he likes to go outside with me earlier in the morning too! But he just isn't as much fun as a boxer sibling :( He doesn't get the whole shaking the toys as hard as you can thing.

He got me in trouble the other day. He shows me cool stuff to do like eat the plants and dig in this box that has sand in it. So I try to do the same thing but Mom and Dad don't like it when I do those things. I bet your Mom and Dad would be upset if you tried those things too - maybe you should show your sister how to these tricks and let her try it first!!

Well I gotta go play now - let me know how the sister boxer thing works out. I might want to ask for one too. Hmmm - where is that kitty?

Your new buddy - Cooper

Hi Austin. I am so glad that you are excited about your new sister. I heard you posted here. I actually know your new sister VERY well - because I was her foster mom in rescue. Jasmine lived with me for about a month here on Hilton Head Island. She was the dearest boxer we ever fostered. We were so sad to see her go but we are glad she found a great home with you. Just give her a little time to warm up to you, as she has been through a lot of changes lately. When she frst came here she didn't play much with her foster sister Shadow - but after about a week they had a great time and they would play and keep each other company. She just needs lots of love and support and she will be a wonderful member of your family. Please contact me if you have any questions about her and give my Jazzy baby a big hug from her foster mom! (Our firend Andie has my email.)

Austin, what a great picture of you and your new sister - you are both VERY photogenic!

I've also heard lots of stories about Jasmine, and I know she'll make a great sister for you! She's a fast learner! We're so excited she found a great new home with you!

It took my little girl quite some time to warm up to her new brother, but now they just love to play! As a matter of fact, they're wrestling right now! :D

Have a wonderful time with your new sister! fiestaicon

Hi, Its mom here , I see my Deamon Child has been at the keyboard and shared the news before I had a chance. So I'll do the update.

This is day 3,
Jasmine has had a difficult life and is now left with IBS ( Irritable Bowel Syndrome) She has been so good, not one accident in the house, but I am taking her out about every 2-3 hours, sometines I can go 3-4 hours and she sleeps thru the night 6-8 hours without asking to go outside. If any of you guys out there have any experience with IBS please share with me.

She has quickly warmed up to her new big brother, and they are so wonderful to see playing together.

She knows a few words ( commands sound so harsh) does great on sit, wait and leave it. I have already talked to our trainer and she will be in the late Feb / March Basic Obediance class. But I am sure she will zoom right thru it because she is a really quick learner. We have introduced the gentle leader to her because between the 2 of them I could be the one being taken for a walk. She has adjust extreamly well.

She catches better than Austin ( tossing a treat and catching it mid air)

And for the kitty sister...I know that is working out well....Jasmine has gone past Magic on 2 occassions today and not even paid her an ounce of attention. Magic doesnt even ruffle up today....

Jasmine has started to seek my attention and Austin is such a hoot pushing his big butt inbetween me and Jasmine....but sharing better than I had ever thought/

Yesterday going to the vet Austin was determined not to give up his "spot in the truck" ( we have a S10 extended cab...and Austin rides in the back...proping his head on the arm rest). They both wanted to be in the back... Poor Jasmine was straddle his back...head one side ...tail on the other..Austin would not budge...he was like a rock...she gave up and hopped in the front with me...She rode with her head so high...like she thought she was a princess...Austin kept his head on the armrest as if he thought someone would take it from him....too funnie.

Tomorrow our petsitter is coming over to meet Jasmine and get a feel of walking 2 boxers ...and to decide if it will be 2 walks or one...standard leads or gentle leaders....

So all in all...things are falling into place....and the weather man is calling for snow on Friday.....oh I cant wait to see this.....maybe I should start a poll on who walks who in the snow....hehehe
