my new puppy - what do you think she is mixed with?

I am leaning towards the Mastiff mix. She is extremely large looking for only 10 weeks and that would explain that. If she is a mastiff/boxer mix she will be a very good girl. Either way, no matter what her daddy is, she is a cutie.

I'd love *any* of the mixes mentioned. German Shepherds are smart and trainable, rottwielers are also smart and very loyal, mastiffs are sweet and ...uh, BIG. The vet said that, if she HAD to guess, she'd guess that there was some great dane...something about the shape of her feet and legs. they are long and gangly with boxy feet but, many of the full-boxer pups' pics that i've seen on this site have similarly built legs.

she just turned 12 weeks and is 23 lbs...is that big for her age for a boxer pup? i don't have anything to compare her to.

no matter what she is, she's been a teriffic puppy so far. she sleeps thru the nite in her crate, she has only had one accident in the house, she politely asks to go out (tho, usually, it's for playing-out-in-the-yard purposes...not potty purposes) and she's learning sit and down and bark and stay already.

You have an adorable puppy. Looks like she is going to be fairly large. I know she is going to be a wonderful dog no matter what breed her father was. I bet she will give you lots of boxer kisses. My boxer is only 58 lbs and she is almost 15 months old. Enjoy your beautiful puppy and be proud of her.

I don't think she could be a bull mastiff if she's only 23 lbs at 12 weeks. That would be pretty small for a mastiff, although you never know! She's sure cute, though!

There's a thread somewhere asking people to post weight at 4 months and 1 year. That might help you get an idea of average for a purebred.

My baby is 13 weeks and I am guessing (I find out for sure tomorrow) he is around the 13-16 lbs. She is gorgeous!!!!! I see Mastiff in her, but that is my thoughts. No matter what she is mixed with, she is a beautiful girl!!!

Our vet said that Napoleon weighed in at 17lbs, and he is 13 weeks today. I hope that is of some help to you?

Whatever she is mixed with, it's definitely a bigger breed, 23 pounds at 12 weeks for a female boxer is pretty big (considering full grown female boxers "standard" says between 50-60, I think) But, she's definitely a doll baby. Also, if it is a mastiff, that would explain some of her "laid back" personality traits, those guys are usually pretty mellow. Whatever she is, first and foremost, she is your baby and THANK YOU for rescuing her!! It'll probably be a little easier to tell what she might be mixed with when she gets a little older, it's so hard to tell when they're still pups. Give Cody a hug from all of us!
