Oh Sharon I don't know what to say. The second home sounds wonderful! Have you talked to the people to see if they would allow you to bring the children and visit? I hope everything works out. I am so happy you have found a new place though. Hang in there girlfriend.

As I am sitting her with my eyes filled with tears, all I can thing to do is send you all huge (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))). Just know that Spirit will have a beautiful home with tons of grass to ruin and a sister to play with all day. I am so sorry. With all you have been through, you deserve nothing but happiness.

No one should ever have to make the choice you are forced into making, and I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers as you get through this difficult time. May you find strength and a peaceful calmness... you and your family deserve that.

I am so sorry that you have to go through this. Is there anyway to sneak him into your new home? Maybe no one will notice. Or they just say this and no one really keeps a close eye on situations. You could try it and if they catch you then try and find him a new loving home. I just want you to keep him and not have to give him up....

PS I just looked at your gallery, and if you want to send him to Newfoundland, I'll have him, he's such a cutie. You must be so heartbroken.

Sharon I'm so very sorry - but you're right you must think of what is best for Spirit. Maybe you can "make a deal" with the people, like you and your family can come visit him (if they have that many aces and race horse I don't see why an afternoon of playing with your pup would do any harm). If you wanted to send him to me I'd be willing to pup sit. Stay strong - maybe tell you concerns to the people and see what they say, you never know they very well could understand that you'd want your baby boy back when you find a place that allows you to have 2 dogs.

I know how hard this must be for you. I am sorry. However, if somebody didn't give up our Heidi we would have never known the wonderful dog she is. Sometimes, you just can't help the situations you find yourself in and what might be the hardest thing for you to do will mean the world to someone else. Maybe Spirits new family can give you updates and let you know how he is doing. I still email my friend Heidi's pictures so she can show her sister that she is doing well. Best of luck and there will be happier times to come.

I am so so sorry :( It does not seem fair at all. You have been through so much. Just know you 're doing what you need to do and Spirit will be ok. it sounds like he'll be going to a good home (I know that's the only way you'd let him go)..It is sure to be terrible for all of you but you will get through it one day at a time. You'll be in my thoughts & prayers

Oh Sharon, I'm so sorry!! I know how hard it is to let go of a baby like that...I wish so hard that this wasn't happening to you. Why on earth do rentals have to be so stupidly narrowminded that they impose such strict and arbitrary rules on people?

When I moved into my place, they were aware I had a dog. I didn't mention that I do rescue and often have fosters...and I definitely didn't tell them when I decided to adopt Indy. I'm still not sure if I'm in any danger of getting kicked out or told to get rid of a dog...but I worry about it a lot.

Anyway, I'm just sorry that you have to add this additional piece to the crap you've had to deal with. I don't want to tell you it gets better with time - I still feel pangs of loss for my Xena and Titus, and it's coming up on two years since I lost them. But thankfully you'll still have one of your babies.

I am so sorry you have to do this. I can't imagine having to do such a hard thing. Your family has been through a lot this year and you are very strong and doing the best you can for your family. I wish I lived closer, I would gladly take care of him for you. I hope things work out as best they can and if we can do anything please let us know.

Oh Sharon, I am so sorry for your current predicament. Why don't you and Spirit make a few visits to the farm to see how he interacts with the other dog, and these people. In view of the circumstances, you might be able to take some comfort in the fact that you have found him the ideal home, and for making the transition for him easier by getting him aquainted with this family before placement. Take care, and please do keep us posted ~ Cathy
