Gracie,21 months, is urinating a lot. She is leaving little puddles in the floor(she never goes in the house) and wants to go outside all the time. When she goes outside, she tries to urinate the entire time. She acts like it is painful. Gracie is usually full of energy but now she is lethargic and doesn't want to play at all. She is also having diarrhea and acts like it is painful. We think she has a UTI. Our first concern was the food recall causing kidney failure but she only eats Pedigree so her food is not part of the recall. We are taking her to the vet Monday. Does diarrhea and lethargy go along with a UTI?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

I am not sure. none of my dogs ever had a uti, but try and give her plenty of water.
a little info for you:

Symptoms of UTI infection in pets

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are uncomfortable and extremely painful. They tend to be more common in cats than dogs and can be caused by bacterial infection, bladder stones or urolithiasis (stones in the urinary tract).

UTIs often recur and can lead to more serious kidney infections if left untreated. Symptoms include

Straining to urinate
Obvious pain or discomfort when urinating
Constantly licking their genitals
Frequent urination without passing much urine
Urinating in unusual places
Cloudy or bloody urine
Fever and loss of condition

here is the site. i just kinda came across it for you...

I have never had a dog with an UTI before either so I can't tell of the symptoms first hand but my Dad's Bichon had kindey stones and was displaying the same symptoms as Gracie is. She had surgery to remove them and has been fine since. A trip to the vet will get the problem solved though.

Not sure if you know it or not but Pedigree is not a good food. People think it is the best and it is advertised as being one of the best but it is really nothing more than a bag of expensive crap. Check out www.dogfoodanalysis.com

Thanks for the advice and information. It was very helpful. It is great to have people to "talk" to about our boxer.
