I just got back from the vet w/our 2yr old Gazelle. It wasnt good. We were on vacation last week and when we got back we noticed a growth in her mouth on the upper gums so i made an apt. Then this afternoon i notice another growth on her rear. Well, the one on the rear turned out to be a full anal sac. The vet muzzled her and then squezzed this thing like a zit, fluid went everywhere and she was going balistik. she galluped around the room like a bronco running into the table and walls then fell to the floor exhausted, it was awful. The vet said this was an unusual reaction. Then when he looked at her mouth growth he said it was most likely a tumor. We could have it biopsied and removed by a specialist which would cost over $1200. (It could also be elsewhere in the body.) If we leave it and it is cancer and grows she has 6mo. to a year to live. We are unsure of what to do. Gazelle has been a frail, sickly dog that we've brought to the vet several times in the year that we've had her. The vet said there may be more to it like with her liver and kidneys since she has had so many problems or a tumor in her brain since she acts so strange and lathargic at times. I have no idea what to do, i want to find out if its elsewhere in the body before going w/removal which seems to make sence but the vet didnt mention this as an option. Any support or advise about this would help alot. thanks.

I'm so sorry and am thinking of you and Gazelle - please give her a hug from us. What tough decisions for you...perhaps consult with an Oncologist? Your vet may be able to recommend one near you. These sites on Cancer may help as well:

This site has a listing of Oncologists but I'm not sure how complete it is:

Take care and keep us updated.
