Congratulations from San Antonio! I may have a "step" sibling of Star... my bay girl Jada was sired by Roller from Blue Collar Boxers. I will be showing one day... not Jada as she I am aware of the challenges of showing classic brindles.... and I still have so much too learn. Can't wait to see your pics!

Yes, Star's sire is Roller. Who is JADA's mom? I always love to come across half-siblings.....I know a lot of them as well, especially those in the ring.
I plan to go to the San Antonio show the 1st weekend in February to see a number of her siblings/half-siblings compete.
By the way, I do have some head shots in my gallery.

About Jada
I adopted Jada from Tymberwood Boxers (litter website below), she is 6-1/2 months old now. Several of her flashier siblings are in confirmation classes, I think they will do well in the ring! I'm not sure if they any of them will be showing in Feb; I haven't talked to Sarah since before the holidays. I will be there though... as a spectator, learning, learning, learning. I'll keep my eyes open for Star (and you). About Star... she is just beautiful!!! What a gorgeuos head! I'd love to show off my spoiled girl in the gallery but all of my "hundreds" of pictures are too big in size and I haven't taken the time to figure out how to make them smaller to meet the boxerworld standards. Nice to meet you... I guess we're related now... hahahahaha

Congrats!!! I just saw the pics of Star and she is very gorgeous. Do their ears have to be cropped in order to enter them in shows and for them to win? I was thinking about getting a boxer to show and I was curious.

it maybe harder to finish, and a breeder may want the show potential pup to have cropped ears. But its just a matter or finding the right breeder.. getting a pup w/ exceptionally good conformation, as a natural-earred dog maybe looked closer at by the judges. There are many good show breeders here in Southern California.. and even a few boxer specialty shows coming up very soon. a great place to get to know breeders!-Kat

Yes, natural ear dogs can be shown. However, here in Texas I have yet to see one in the show ring. A breeder I know has just had a litter and she has left the puppy she kept with natural ears - so I am looking forward to seeing him in the ring.
From my perspective, since I am wanting to handle my own dogs, I will not have a natural eared dog until they are a lot more prevalent. I am already at a disadvantage being an owner-handler, competing against the professionals, and for a while it is going to be more difficult to win with a natural ear dog. I want to finish my dogs, so I will be cropping for some time to come.
So, I would say, that if you really like natural ears, and you plan to use a professional handler, and the dog is an excellent example of the breed - then yes, go ahead and leave the ears natural. But, otherwise, I would recommend cropping.
