My First Home Check!!!

So a little while back, I had applied to be a volunteer for SCBR. Well, I had been accepted and just waiting for a home check or transport close enough for us to volunteer for. It's based out of Mass. and with me in Jersey, there aren't many opportunities...I got an email yesterday needed a home check done relatively close to where I live...I jumped on it sooooooo quick and spoke to the potential rescue family last night. I am so beyond excited, these people sound so great over the phone. It's scheduled for sunday and I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!! I hope that I can help in finding a loving forever home for a boxer baby who has had a tough life so far...I get to bring Kuma, too!!! They were so excited when I told them she would be coming...that made me feel good...thanks for letting me rant!!!

Good luck with your interview, I'm sure you will make some lucky boxers day with a forever home. I am hoping to hear back from SCBR myself. I applied to volunteer 3-4 weeks ago.

Thanks everyone!!! I fell in love with this woman the moment we started talking and when she got so excited that I was bringing Kuma, I was beyond stoked to meet her and her husband...I really hope that her home is as wonderful as she sounds!!!

Ken, I hope you hear from SCBR REAL soon...it took a while for me to hear back from them so don't get discouraged!!

The home check went VERY well!!! They were even better in person than on the phone...I don't know yet if SC made the decision yet, but I have a feeling that a boxer is getting a new forever home!!!! These people were so loving and would provide a wonderful home...I'll keep my fingers crossed for them...

I have been wanting to help out the local rescue, but I live about 70 miles south. Too far. But maybe that is something I can do, I never thought about that

How wonderful that you are helping out in the rescue process, I got Lilly from SCBR last Saturday, and have been so inpressed with the organization that I have already completed my volunteer application and am looking forward to doing BRAD's as soon as she settles in and gains a little confidence. Kudos to you both!!!
