My First Boxer Puppy!!

Hi guys.. I just got my first boxer puppy 2 days ago...and he is perfect! I have been reading up on them for quite sometime, and everywhere I had read was saying how smart they are and everything, well I've raised a lab (whose still a puppy...10 months) and a westie puppy, so I was prepared for the "accidents" with a huge stock of paper towels and cleaner, well I'm proud to report only 2 accidents!! I love these breeds so much, I can't believe I've been missing out on them! I do have one question though... I was reading that boxers shouldn't be given "large breed puppy food" b/c they aren't really a large breed. So, I was just wondering what everyone else is or had been feeding their boxer puppies...any help and tips would be appreciated!!

Congrats on your new boxer! OMG they are the greatest breed ever--but of course I am biased! There is a ton of excellent info in the feeding forum regarding quality dog foods--look at the "sticky" notes posted there--a great explanation of what to look for in a quality dry food and also a link to a fantastic site set up by one of our moderators and the BW site owner that details the better foods and has a rating system in place for you to view the different foods and how they rate/compare! I agree check the feeding forum there is tons of info on this. Also check the forum marked "news" there is a new food review you should check out! Good luck with your new pup and if you still have questions ask away! There is always someone here to help!

They are the best

Champ is also the first boxer I have ever owned, but my uncle has had them like my whole life. Even though I have been around them so much I am still amazed at how smart my boy is and as sly as a fox. Sometimes I really think he thinks hes smarter than me. Some of the things he tries to get away with when he thinks I am not looking You just have to laugh!!
