My First Boxer Baby

Hello all!

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'll be bringing home my first boxer baby on March 17th. A flashy fawn boy who was born on January 16th. I'm naming him Pasdar, and I've waited a long time for this little guy! Needless to say, I'm very excited.

I live in Austin, TX and the breeder is in Houston. He came to me through a referral of someone on the boxerworld mailing list. She owns two dogs that are half siblings to my pup. I spoke with the breeder last night, and he was very nice. He says he was the secretary for the Houston Boxer Club for 6 1/2 years, but he recently retired. I've done a lot of research, but never bought from a breeder before. I feel pretty confident that I'm getting a healthy dog from someone who has the best interest of the breed at heart.

I've been designing websites for years, and I have already started working on a site for Pasdar, which will be at http://www.pasdar.org. There is nothing to see there yet, and I'm trying to get the domain hosts to fix whatever is wrong with it, because it's not working properly at the moment. I guess the most important thing is that it works in time to bring Pasdar home!

I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions to ask and stories to share once I've brought him home. I've been lurking here the last week or so, reading over messages and this seems like a great source of information for about any question anyone could have.

Congrats on your first boxer! Maggie is my first boxer and I love her to pieces!
Be patient with the housetraining. Maggie did well and was trained in five days, but puppies do have accidents. We also got Maggie when she was eight weeks old. It has been a blast watching her grow up. She is now sixty pounds of solid muscle!
This is the best website for you. I have learned a lot. Good luck and let us know how Pasdar does.

I guess the name deserves a bit of an explanation.

Pasdar is for Adrian Pasdar (http://www.adrian-pasdar.com) the actor. He's the star of the PAX show "Mysterious Ways" (shameless plug, they haven't been renewed next season and can use the extra attention) and married to Dixie Chick Natalie Maines. I say that because more people recognize her name than his. IMO, he's the most incredibly gorgeous man on the face of the earth. Pictures don't do the man justice, standing face to face with him is sheer perfection. Nothing less than the best for my baby! And the name is just perfect. Unique, yet easy to pronounce and remember. I don't know the meaning, but it's Iranian. Maybe I can find the answer to that on the internet. Adrian played a boxer in his first starring role in a film. It was called "Streets Of Gold" opposite Wesley Snipes.

Pasdar is also the half brother of Braveheart and Baylea (http://www.braveheartboxer.com). Braveheart was named for Mel Gibson's Braveheart. Brothers named after two gorgeous actors. These guys have a lot to live up to, but I'm sure they are more than up to the task!

Hello All!

Just 5 more days until Pasdar comes home! They seem like 5 very long days, but somehow I guess I'll get through them.

Just wanted to tell everyone that I have updated Pasdar's website (and the domain actually works now) and I have photos of him from birth up to 7 weeks of age. I just keep looking at them over and over again, and I still really can't believe that he's real!

Just one other thing - how do I change my avatar photo in my profile? It says if I have more than one post (which I obviously do) I can change it to a custom photo. I'd like to add a little pic of Pasdar under my user name, but under options there is a box to click to make the change, then the next page just says "thanks for updating!" but I haven't actually made any changes.:confused:
