My dog has fits

Our dog is eppilectic and has fits every fornight he's on so much medication and he's only 10 months we just hope that he get better in time he can have as many as six a day and they can go on for hours when they come they last a few days followed by head jerking for a few days we don't want to put him down he's all we've left just been through a bereavment and lost my son don't want to lose ruce as well does anyone else have a dog like this

OMG!!!!!! It sounds as though your dog is having cluster seizures!!! If these are not controlled, it could progress to a continuous seizure that does not stop. This is most definitely a true emergency that requires immediate veterinary care - the pup needs to be on oral or rectal valium. Hope everything turns our alright. Do keep us posted - Cathy

That sounds like severe epilepsy, is the medication not controlling the seizures at all?

My 7 yr old Boxer was diagnosed epileptic in April this year. We started him on Phenobarbitol and his seizures stopped. He went until 2 weeks ago without having another one, so now we have upped his dose. I'm hoping this keeps him seizure free.

It's very scary, I hope you can get your pups epilepsy under control.
