My 12 week old Boxer Dempsey just loves to follow everyone around the house and get under your feet. Yesterday morning he got under my 7 year olds feet and tripped her. She feel on him and I heard him yelp. I didn't see it happen but he has been limping ever since ( about 36 hours). He doesn't whine when he walks and he still wants to jump and play but the limping really concerns me. I am debating taking him to the vet. Please tell me I'm over reacting and that he will be fine. Thanks.

If he's still limping after a couple of days I'd go ahead and let the vet take a look....probably nothing but its best to get it checked out.

Nope. You're under-reacting. Take the pup to the vet.

A seven year old child falling on a baby pup is enough to break bones - and if he's still limping 36 hours later, it possibly has.

Lola jumped on Zeb the other night and he yelped and limped, we rang the emergency vet and went straight down the surgery to have him checked over.
Better to be safe than sorry.

Our breeder told us one of the pups from his previous litter got stepped on when it went to a family with a five year old, and broke it's leg! I would take it to a vet. Also sit down and have a talk with the kids about how to act around the pup. Even if it was an accident, just so they are aware.

Definitely needs to see a vet ASAP. He could very easily have a broken bone or torn ligament and it's better to be safe than sorry. The kids will have to try to be more observant while he is to tiny, even though it was an accident it could still cause big problems and broken legs.

I'll just repeat what the others have said--Get him to the vet ASAP--36 hours and still limping...he needs to be seen, in fact should have been seen already! Good luck.
