Hope things are starting to get better now for you. Poor thing it sounds as like everything just dumped on you at once, all when you had good intentions to patch things up between you and your father. Hope all slows down for you soon.

I just came across this thread and am so terribly sorry to hear about your Dad's recent passing. I had a distant relationship with both my parents when they both died within a relatively short time not too long ago, so I can truly empathize with what you are going through. I also kept a journal afterwards which helped me sort through all of my emotions. Glad that your step mother called, and that you and your brother will be able to have a private memorial to your father. Heartfelt condolences to you and your family ~ Cathy
