Marion,
So nice to hear from you.
All is well on the home front....job is going well and I am also awaiting maybe a better one!! if I get it I will have to move a lil closer which is ok as it will be closer to my folks as well.
Arley is doing good and is getting use to being by himself it seems although he is VERY happy to see me when I come home which is nice, we romp around for a few minutes and then go for a small walk before his dinner time, trying to get a new routine.
Looks like I might be getting my first rescue this week, I am still waiting. She is a 2.5 yr old female and her owner is dying and was put in a home and she is now chained up outside and someone is just feeding her, so I am trying to get her so that I can foster her and get her placed in a new loving home, so this should be very interesting for both Arley and I. Plus I am watching my friends boxer girl while they are away for spring break....YIKES!! I will have my hands full.
I came down to my parents house last Saturday and Emma Mae looks like she has another ulcer on her eye so I took her to the vet's on Sunday and there was a guy in there that had to put his puppy down as it was very sick I guess it was not a boxer but as I sat there watching him the tears started to flow as I began to think about me in the same situation not to long ago with Cooper...when they called my name they were gonna take me to the same exact room where I helped Cooper to the bridge and I just could not go in that room yet!! I began to bawl like a baby and was terrified!! I asked for a different room and they were very understanding...I felt like a total idiot but the heartache is still to fresh for me!! it has only been 6 weeks even though it feels like a lifetime!! so the past few days have been a lil rough as I have been constantly thinking about my Cooper again. I know it will get better but I am just not there yet, I am just to the point I can talk about him without tearing up!!
I hope all is well with you and Millie!!

Wow, Kodie...you have certainly had your hands full lately!!....I am so, so, pleased that Arley is doing well now, and is looking after his mummy so well! As we all know on here, our beautiful babies in fur coats are always so perceptive to our own feelings, and maybe now you are feeling a little more settled and optimistic, he is picking up on this, and is beginning to feel a bit more relaxed and happy.....It would be great if you get the job nearer to your family, as you and Arley would be able to enjoy all the extra love and attention that your family would undoubtedly lavish on you :)
What a sad story about the rescue baby,....I so hope all goes well on that score, and she gets to go home with you and Arley, she deserves a loving home after the horrible time the poor little one has had....but do you think you will be able to give her up for adoption?...I bet you fall madly in love with her, and find you have a new permanent addition to your home!...anyway well done in opening up your heart and home for her appicon appicon
That episode at the vet must have been so heart wrenching and poignant for you....but what lovely staff at the vets office to understand the significance, and take you into a different room.
You are doing really well, but it is still early days, and of course you will have days when you will sob and cry, I've said before, I still have times when, I remember Poppy in the last days of her life, ravaged by that vile brain tumour, and I feel so guilty that I let her linger longer than I should have done, that I will bawl my eyes out too.....But you will find as time goes on, that you are able to smile, and laugh about all the good times you and Cooper had together, and gradually, these times will outweigh the times when you cry, and you will be able to chat about him without breaking down...I am sure Cooper is looking after you, your own little guardian angel, and will soon have a paw in picking out out a very special Boxer to share the love that he had with you, and to help your aching heart to heal.
As always, there are so many on here that know your pain, and I and many others will keep you in our thoughts and prayers... keep us posted..lots of love and a special big kiss from Millie X :)

My Jakey has a brain tumor as well.. My heart goes out to you

I feel for you. My Jakey is dying. In the last couple of weeks, I have watched him become more and more stiff and sore, he has almost completely lost his sight now. He is on a complete aray of antibiotics for a couple of days now to treat any possible infection, and steroids to help him to be comfortable. I tried to be optomistic thinking it was an infection, but he can no longer see me, I know he still knows who we are but I don't think he is able to express it any more.
He wanders aimlessly around the house, at times, stopping as if he forgot where he was going. We need to help him down the back stairs to go to the bathroom, when he actually makes it to the back door...and then help him back up the stairs
He is my baby boy, my angel, he has jogged with me, walked with me, been my best friend, and loved me unconditionally and who I have loved back just as much for almost 7 years, he has been a little brother to my daughter, and a big brother for our new boxer Harley.
We are going to give the antibiotics another couple of days to see if there is any improvement, but becoming more sure that it's a brain tumor.
I, feel like it's a bad dream, this can't be happening, two weeks ago he was racing across the field to me, chasing me back and forth, running through the woods...now I'll soon be saying goodbye.
My heart goes out to you and your baby. I just wanted to let you know that there are other mommys and daddys going through the same thing, or similar things and I hope it brings some comfort to know you are not alone... I know that it brings me some comfort in reading some of these threads.

Sorry about Jakey

I am so sorry to hear what a terrible time your Jakey is having and what you are experiencing during this time. I know it is hard watching him go through this for 2 weeks. I hope the antibiotics will help. Gosh, at 7 yrs old we think we have them for a while, but we never know. We lost our beloved girl about 7 mo ago at 9yrs. It is so hard giving them up, but I know she isn't suffering anymore. We are lucky to have them for the time that we do and I know neither of us would trade the years we have had with them for anything. Hang in there and know other boxer lovers are praying for you and Jakey.
