Thanks Marion,
It is nice to know I am not alone.
I am starting to view more of the good memories I have with him then just the sadness of his passing, but even those are still painful right now (but getting better)
Yesterday I had to explain to my 4 yr old neice where my Cooper went and that was so very hard and it just seems to bring it all back but I know one day I will be able to talk about him with out crying.

I thank you for your strength.

Well, I braved the journey back home after 2 weeks and it was very hard.
As I went through 2 weeks of mail the vet had sent a card and a VERY VERY nice paw print they took from Cooper after he passed. It started the whole process over for me as I began to cry.

On Tuesday nite (2 days after getting home) My Arley suffered from a seizure.
He has cardiomyopathy and is on meds and has had only one fainting spell. This was no fainting spell, his jaw was clamped, his legs were stiff and he urinated while he was out. I was so scared because when he peed himself I thought he was dead as I did not know it was common in a seizure... he was not down long, just long enough to pee all over and when he woke up he looked and me really funny and wanted a drink of water, he would not leave my sight and wanted to just lay on me and sleep. I called the vet and they just told me to watch him and make sure he did not start having clusters. There have been no more seizures but I have noticed that since the seizure his face and legs are very active while he sleeps, twitching really bad.
Also one of his eyes looks droopy now......could this have been a stroke??
I am just SO scared and worried as I can not bear the fact of losing him so soon after my Cooper has left us!!!
The vet said we can do blood work but with only having one seizure that they would probably not find anything yet. I know that diet is a role and he is on Natural Balance which is what he has been on for years now....is there anything else that could have caused it or could it have been a fluke thing???

Any info will help.
Thanks

Gosh I'm so sorry this is happening to Arley so soon after Cooper passing. I would go ahead and have blood work done to know if perhaps there are thyroid or liver disorders etc....also to get them to listen for any changes in the heart.....maybe something that meds can prevent from happening again. On the other hand,I had a friend whose dalmation had one seizure they were aware of . This one seizure happened when the household was "turned upside down" during a daughters wedding-so it was a very stressful time. Perhaps Arley was just stressed out...good luck

Oh, sweetheart, I am so sorry, you are having such a rough time, especially after you have been so brave in returning home....first I wanted to say what a wonderful, thoughtful Vet you have in sending you a card with Cooper's paw print in,...a real memento for you to treasure, I know It must be heart rendering to look at at the moment, but you'll be so glad that you have such a personal keepsake.
My heart is going out to you to have to see Arley suffering a seizure, you must have been petrified...I know how frightening they are, Millie also has a heart condition, and sometimes she has these too...quite recently she had two in as many days, and her cardioligist couldn't be sure if she had had a simple faint, siezure, or a heart attack....course at the time my stomach was in knots, terrified that this was going to be 'the time' that my vet and her cardioligist had warned me could happen since Millie was a baby,...she has defied all odds, and is six years old this year!!....Poppy also suffered multiple siezures ( because of her brain tumour), and the symptoms you describe do sound like a common siezure.....but I do agree with sidhewlf it would put your mind at rest to have the bloodwork done, so you can get a better insight on the problem,....on the other hand it may also be true that Arley has been so stressed with losing Cooper, picking up on everyone else's distress, going back home, disruption in almost everything really, that has stressed him enough to bring this on, and it could turn out to be an isolated episode that will never reoccur....I am praying that this is the case and that Arley will stop giving mummy such a fright!!!...... I am sure that your bad times are over now, and that things will gradually calm down, and return to normal...I've said before, all the positive energy and love you find here from everyone on BW can work miracles, and you sweetie, deserve every last bit of love, healing vibes, and positive thought power that all of us here can muster. You have been through enough to break anyone lately..but I know how strong you are....so keep on thinking positive thoughts, and carry on being as brave as you are...good luck,...I will keep you in my thoughts (((((((( HUGS ))))))))

I just read this post also and all of my thoughts are with you. I lost my boxer in Jan and things have not been the same. I can barely get through a week without crying. I can tell your Cooper had so much love. Stay strong, we are here for you for support whenever you need us.

very sorry

We are very sorry to hear of your loss. We have had a rough past couple of weeks with one of our boys, Jackson. We are trying to do all we can for him but still try to prepare for the worst. You can find his story in the post "Jackson's Update". They do become just like children and we love them to death. And you were right in saying that all we can do is give them the best and spoil them as best we can. Our hearts go out to you. Also, for all that read this don't forget, Pray for Jackson!
