I am so very sorry for your loss. I still have Cooper's picture on my fridge. Somehow even with all the young pups, gorgeous adults and just sweet boxer babies Cooper stood out for me. I wish there was more I could do, but please know that I will also miss him. Give your your other fur babies a big hug & kiss from me. You are all in my thoughts & prayers.
Godspeed Sweet Cooper angelicon run free...

I am Right there with you!!

Hi Cooper's Mom,

I know exactly how you feel and am happy you wrote me!! I had to make my decision with Bruno on Feb. 1 and it was a nightmare. I was right there holding him and kissing him till the end. He seemed to be ready however, I was not and am still not. He looked perfect in having a shiny coat and still perked his ears when special words were spoken but I did know. I knew in the early am before even seeing the vet he would not be coming home. I tried to deny it. I asked my husband to come and he even was in denial saying he is coming home today so don't worry. i am his mom and somehow I knew. I was histerical, and scared. I told the vet that my breatest fear was giving in too quickly and making a bad snap decision. Knowing he was bleeding internally really left my logical mind no options yet my heart had many. I feel I did the one last act of friendship I could and he trusted me to do that. I still have trouble with this but am attempting to come to terms with it.

We all find some way to make it though the rough times~!

Take Care and thanks for your response!!

Thanks again for all the support and kind words.

I am appraoching day 4 without my big boy and I am just NOW getting to the point where I dont start to cry every 10 seconds.

I have been unable to move any of his things like his blanket, bed, pillows and his favorite toys yet, but carry his collar with me where ever I go, because it is the same collar he has had all his life, it smells SO much like him and I find myself smelling it all the time.

The vet called this afternoon and advised he is ready for his momma to come get him, so I am leaving first thing in the morning to go get my baby and bring him back home where he belongs.

Arley and Emma Mae have been very loving to me rite now and I know it is their way of comforting me. I continue to see many changes with Arley like riding shot gun which HE HAS NEVER DONE because that is where Cooper sat, I caught him guarding the food bowls this morning not wanting to let Emma Mae eat out of one. I know we all need our time, but I just find it amazing how they work.

Thanks for all the prayers and all the prayers for my Cooper.

I've been there and know what you are experiencing. Life will get better and the darkness will turn back to light.....it took me 3 months to move my angel Sarahs things..and the day I did,I received a call asking if I could give a Boxer boy a much needed new home....I still have the collars of all babes I've had to say goodbye to...and yes,I do still pick them up and smell them from time to time. I smile when I think of them waiting patiently for me at the bridge.Hugs

With deepest sympathy

I am so sorry for you loss, reading all the post's bring back memories of my loss of Jade last year, most of us have been there and it's true things do get better in time. Cooper couldn't have asked for a better life with you and your family, but he's now in a place where pain is no more and plenty of friends to
play with and wiggle with.
It's been nearly a year for me and even though we have a new baby I will never forget her, with photos around and her ashes still on our dresser it still feels she's around. I also found that I couldn't part with certain things so me and the kid's made a box with her walking coat ( put this in a plastic bag and it's kept its smell of her), her lead, favorite toys and pictures the kids drew after she'd passed, it was there way of dealing with it. It remains under my bed and every now and then I'll go and look in it, it's quite comforting just to smell her essence.

Love and light

Sarah

Well, it has been almost two weeks without my Cooper, yet it feels like forever. I picked up his ashes a week ago today and have found some comfort in having him back with me.
When I started this thread I was out of town at my folks' house when my Cooper took a turn for the worst and I had to make the decision to help him to the bridge and since that day I have NOT returned home, I have stayed here with my parents to help me with my loss. It is time that I return home but I am SO scared!! I am not even sure what I am afraid of but I have a lot of anxiety about returning home.

I have also posted pics of my baby.

Thanks for being there.

Oh Sweetheart I wish I could reach out and give you a big hug...you are being so brave in returning home...but you must try and get your life back to 'normal', and you are taking the first step....Things will get easier as time goes on, but it's always so difficult at first....always remember that Cooper will never leave you, he lives on in your heart....and the support of everyone here at BW goes on........Sending you much love at this sad time...stay strong xxx

I can feel your hug.....thank you.

I fear it will hit me worse when I get home and I cant imagine what that will feel like since it seems so bad now. I know it will get easier in time but it just still hurts an awful lot right now, just when I thought I could stop crying I start again like I am doing now..... I miss his lil fuzz-butt.

Sweetie, you cry all you need to, it helps, and is natures way...you are still grieving, and don't be afraid to do it..It is all part of the healing process..when I lost Poppy I cried for weeks (still do it occasionally even now, especially when I am touched by a particular post like yours, and it brings back the memory of her suffering)...my eyes were so swollen I looked like a bullfrog!.....After the vet came to our home to help her to the bridge, We took off that same day to our chalet at the coast, because I couldn't bear to be at home without her..I took her collar with me, and her pillow, so I could still smell her, and I too was in bits and frightened to return home.
Of course eventually we had to come back, and it was hard...so hard..she wasn't there to greet me with her usual nutty Boxer dance and kisses, and It didn't seem like home anymore...but it had to be done.
My heart goes out to you, take one day at a time...cry,remember all the happy times you had with Cooper..but above all remember what a lucky boy he was to have had a wonderful mum like you to care for him.xx
