You'd be better off using white vinegar rather than any solution from walmart (unless it's nature's miracle, which I don't think they stock). I have also discovered that even with NM it will leave a darker spot on the carpet after it has dried (like dust/dirt is attracted to the solution?), but vinegar doen't leave any residue at all. Narnia is about 12 weeks old now and almost completely potty trained. She will go to the door and paw at it or whine to go out when she has to go. The only accidents she has now are my fault. Like if I get busy after she eats/drinks and am not paying attention to when she wants to go out. We have her now so we don't even have to go out with her (it's cold here!) we just open the door and she does her business and runs back to the door. What we did was take her out right after eating and/or drinking. If she didn't go, I would crate her for about 15 minutes and try again. If she still didn't go (poopie included) then back in the crate for a few minutes. When I caught her going in the house I would loudly tell her NO, or UH UH or whatever came to mind and put her out right away. While she was out, I cleaned up her mess, so she wouldn't see me cleaning up after her. In the beginning I took her out about every 15-30 minutes and crated her when I couldn't be right there with her. While we were outside, I would say in a soothing but excited voice to "Get Busy". I would say that a couple times then say it even more excitedly when she would crouch to do her business. When she was done I would crouch down and get really excited and happy and give her lots of love then we would go in and I would have her sit and she would get a cookie, with praise the whole time. I am AMAZED at how well she is doing at 12 weeks old!! I about fainted the first time she went to the door on her own and pawed at it!! Then the same day she whined at the door when I was in the kitchen and couldn't see her. I plan training her on the bell as soon as I can find one suitable. I wish you luck and patience in training your baby! I know how it can stress your relationship with your pup when you are worried about your house smelling like a kennel! All puppies are different, but don't give up hope!

Friends, I've found the miracle cure for urine stains and odors, courtesy of The Queen of Clean.

You will need:

1. Carpet cleaner containing ENZYMES (Nature's Miracle, Anti-icky poo are 2 examples. I prefer Anti-icky poo. I've found it more effective.)
2. Plastic bag (w/out writing on it, as it will transfer) large enough to completely cover the spot
3. Something heavy enough to keep the plastic firmly in place. I use my college yearbooks.
4. Spot remover

The trick is to saturate the area well with the enzyme product. Cover it with the plastic. Secure it with the heavy object, and leave it for 24-48 hours. Keeping it wet gives the enzymes time to digest the proteins that cause the stink. Follow by using a regular carpet cleaner/spot remover and let it dry.

This has worked for us and we had major problems in specific areas of the house because the dogs kept peeing in one place.

Another product that I'm anxious to try is called Odorzout, but I've not been able to find it.

Boxer Booster
Our baby is 8 weeks old tomorrow and doesn't get it either. Our problem with her is that she pees in her crate around 2-3am and then cries. We stop her water around 7pm, take her about 3 more times before we go to bed at midnight. Then she'll have her accident. Some people say leave it and let her cry and she'll figure it out. Others say clean it up and take her outside. Yet others say if we do that she'll never learn to hold it.

During the day she isn't horrible. She still doesn't know how to tell us yet. So we take her out first thing AM, immediatley after she eats, after every nap, etc. It's about 15 times a day total.

Patience is definitely a virtue for puppy owners! Good luck to you!
