Boxer Pal
Hi, my boxer baby Nala is 11 months and is awesome. She loves to sleep with us in our king size bed and we don't mind she snuggles next to us. Well this past 2 weeks I am experiencing something new. A few nights I have fallen asleep on the couch and when I wake up she is sleeping on my chest and abdomen all curled up. Its cute but I'm wondering why she does this? Is it a dominance issue, and should I be concerned? She is 50lbs now .lol
She will curl right up on my lap during her afternoon nap as well ( i sit on a chair with an ottoman so there is not much room). I am the primary feeder, treat giver trainer and stay at home mom so we spend alot of time together.

I wouldn't be too concerned about dominance. Sounds like you're pretty comfy! If it bothers you though, you most certainly can make her get down.

There may not be enough room for Nala to sleep anywhere else on the sofa, so she climbs on top. Sometimes when I'm watching TV Thor will lay down by my legs and use them for a pillow. (Thank God he doesn't lay on me, he's almost 100 lbs) Since there is no room left for Arabella, she'll climb on the back of the sofa and wrap her self around my neck. It's usually great until I have to get up for something and Arabella slides down into my seat

my boxer is almost 3 and has never slept a full night on anything other than a bed, couch, recliner, lap, chest, stomach or anything else comfy,in winter or colder months hes known for burrowing under the covers like a bug in a rug.to him a floor is for walking or in his case, running and playing on,not sleeping.

Boxers are notorious snugglers, but I wonder if your girl's recent need to cuddle has something to do with the cooler temperatures. I'm not an expert when it comes to animal behaviour, but I don't think you need to worry about this being a dominance issue. Boxers are sucky dogs (especially when they're tired) and no matter how big they get, most of them are lap dogs until the very end.

Stella does the same. I think she just wants to make sure I don't leave her - if she's laying on me, it's difficult for me to do that. Heaven forbid I even close the bathroom door without letting her in!

Dominic is the most cuddely pup. His favorite place to sleep is on my lap when I am on the couch, or in his chair (yes he has clamed a chair!, lol) He also gets to sleep in our bed, and I sometimes wake up to him putting his head on my cheek, or him crawling under the covers towards my feet. I never knew boxers were such snugglers, and I don't mind at all.

It is a battle royale which one gets to lay on my lap when we are on the couch. Sam dosen't like Sally snuggling near me- he is my rescue & very much a momma's boy!

My two are both notorious cuddlers. In the summer when it is so hot, Cody will start beside me on the sofa but will move to the floor... I think because it is cooler down there. Aniah sleeps on AC vents in the summer  But oh with the first sign of nip in the air, my Cody is in my lap to stay.....all 73 lbs of his little ;) self. Aniah snuggs with her daddy but Cody is mine in the winter. He is like a magnet  .

I don't mind Jake snoozing in my lap while I'm sitting in the recliner, but he's never been allowed in our bed. He does just fine curled up on a pillow or on his doggy bed in our bedroom. I already sleep with a BIG husband. Not much room for a BIG dog. I can't imagine getting much sleep if Jake did share our bed. He tosses and turns and moves around as much as a toddler.
