My boxer pees all the time

My Jasper is 10 months old. He pees constantly. I will bring him out and in ten minutes he has to go again. I'm not sure if he is marking or if he is just going to the bathroom alot. He will pee/mark inthe house sometimes, but I always thought if he is neutered(which he is) he wouldn't mark. Can males have bladder infections (it may seem like a stupid question). It has come to the point that I don't leave water down all the time, other wise I would always be bringing him out or he would be pwwing in my house. Any help I would appreciate.

Boys can get infections just like the girls :( It is probably a good idea to get him checked out by the vet. Poor Jasper can't be happy about having to go all the time :( The vet will probably need a urine sample.

Does Jasper happen to be on any medicines right now?
Some antibiotics or other drugs can cause frequent urination.

Dempsey J. used to pee all the time too. Everyten minutes, just like you said. it was such a pain. I took him to the vet and they couldn't find anything wrong with him (ever after an expensive round of diagnostic tests) and decided it was behavioral. We had been shuffling around a lot between my place and my boyfriends, and apparently Dempsey J. didn't liike that. We changed the routine so that we were usually at home, and things got a lot better.

However, he still has to pee way more often than any dog I've ever known. He has to go about every 4-5 hours, although he can make it longer if he really really tries. I a lways say he has a little bladder!

This may sound crazy but some dogs/boxers are very sensitive to preservatives, I checked with my vet on this and he did confirm this. I had a rescue in one time that pee'd all the time, but I knew her background and knew she was house/crate trained, I was still giving her the food that came with her, a grocery store type (yuck). So I immediatly changed her to what I feed my dogs, a naturally preserved dog food, and I swear to you, she never pee'd the crate again! now keep in mind you can't give a dog cookie or anything unless it's nat. preserved......You may read your labels and see what your feeding, now preservatives are also labeled as sulfates, so you have to know what to look for. Peeing all the time

I feed Jasper the lamb and rice formula of Nutro. He doesn't seem to pee anymore. I have rearranged my schedule so I am able to spend more time with him. Also he used to be a peeing machine at my parents but I think he was just marking his territory. I have had him checked by the vet and he is fine. I think he was looking for some attention. Thanks for all the great advise.

I just thought that I would ask... Did you have a blood test done on your puppy? The only reason I ask this is because my puppy used to pee all the time too. He got better and then about 2 mo ago he started again. We were told that it was probably a UTI, but we had his blood tested before he went to be neutered. The blood test came back that he may have possible kidney problems. Some of the signs are excessive peeing, drinking water, throwing up food and water and grogginess. Shaq had shown signs of all of them (not all at once) and we are now in the process of finding out exactly what is wrong with him, but I think that it is too late, we will probably have to put him down. So I just wanted to throw that out to you, since kidney problems are not normal in puppies and are hard to diagnose.

I am so sorry to hear about your pups problem, I just wanted to say that while uti arn't uncommon at all, and some of the symptoms you described also are not for uti's, but as for the kidney problem that is a different situation. If you vet isn't that experienced with this type of problem or boxer's please ask around and maybe we can help you find a vet that may have other ideas, it's amazing sometimes just getting the right knowledgeable vet. Did your vet also do a complete panel on tyroid? Sometimes problems go hand in hand and may stress other organs...I hear of over drinking alot in boxers, and can refer you to a lady who has first hand knowledge, her dog was at OSU. and they found a very rare disease, or at least they think, it's so rare they say... and due to his drinking, bladder extended so large it would wrap around his uritha and make it so he could only dribble urine. His kidney was of course showing signs of damage. Anyway long story short, its not always the kidney itself. He is doing just fine now, he did have to have surg, and is now on medication for life, but his quality is just fine........ I hope your pup will be fine! Cindy

The only problem we've had with Loki is the "submission pee". He pee's when he meets new people and also when we put him in the sunroom. Other than that we've been lucky.
