my boxer likes to hold us down

when my wife or i are doing something( watching tv, playing bordgames, eating....) both our boxers feel the need to have at least one paw on us at all times. even now as i'm typing one of them has there paw on my thigh. we just wanted to know i this a boxer thing or what????

Zack does the same thing. I think boxers like to stay as close to their people as they can. Actually Zack is curled up behind me in the chair right now. He also leans on me all the time. We've had a lot of dogs and Zack is our second boxer. Both boxers have done stuff like this way, way more than any of the other dogs. I think Zack is convinced he's still that little 10 lb. puppy that fit in my lap!

Mugsy will not put her foot on us but hover above us, my foot anything we think Mugsy is claiming us

My Lola is the same way. She always has to be "touching" us somewhere. Even with my kids , (who are only 9 & 5) she thinks they are her "pillows". At night when we are watching T.V. she will come and get her 58 pound body onto the little arm of the couch just to be close to either my husband or I. Like I always say, I think she thinks she is a little lap dog. :D

 

[Mega's Mom]

Mega always has to touch as well. I'm sitting on the couch ... he sits in front of me and both paws come up to touch my knees and he gives me the most pathetic look (hard to ignore that mushy face!). And forget it, if I leave the bathroom door open - paws on my knee as well!!!

Stam usually puts his paw on my thigh and I think it's his way of telling us he's going to be climbing into our lap to sit. I think first he puts his paw to see if we're going to object to his sitting on our lap. If we don't remove his paw or tell him off, then he climbs into our lap.
