I have a 10 month old male boxer and he is mad because I started a new job and he is destroying my house. Has anyone else been through this before?

I think its boredom. Is he getting his daily walks? When you go to work do you leave any chew toys or kongs with him? I can totaly picture it, my girl Harlie gets mad at me too. One day i went to the grocery store and i was gone for 1 1/2 hrs and when i got back she had torn apart her water bowl. I could have killed her, it was a really nice water bowl too.

I don't think your boxer is as much mad at you as he is bored. What I do is close off the bedrooms and bathrooms so that Jesse only has acess to the kitchen, living room and dining room. Then, I put away ANYTHING that might catch his interest...tv remotes, shoes, newspapers, basically anything that isn't nailed down besides his toys, lol. A kong stuffed with peanut butter will also keep him occupied for a while and I do leave the tv on. So far, he hasn't shredded the couch so I consider myself lucky!

Good luck...things will get better and he will settle into a routine.

Sounds like seperation anxiety and boredom....it may help to leave for a few minutes at a time and gradually lengthen the time you are gone....maybe leave a radio on....and remove anything that can be destroyed-lol.....I was amazed at just how much stuffing a small couch pillow actually contained-lol

Thanks

I think most of it is boredom. I talked to a trainer today and was told that he is probally going through his adolescent period.aughhh.

Cleo gets mad at us. DH normally has his time with her after I have gone to sleep well one night he was on the phone and not giving her the love she expects from him. Well she squated down and wee wee on his foot. She had just gone out and had not had an accident in over a month. She has never done it again but I'm sure DH does not ignore her anymore.

Samson use to have seperation anxiety like that. Do you have a crate where you can crate him during the day?
