My Boxer eats his poop!!!

Ok...I don't know what to do about this. He eats like a horse, and he gets his daily fatty acids. I read somewhere that when they do this it is because they are missing something from their diet. Any ideas what this could be??? Not only is this gross, but I would think it's not to good for him...

Nobody really knows why they do it. It may be disgusting to us, but it won't hurt them. :( The best thing to do is to pick it up before they have the opportunity to eat it.

I think they have something you can put in their food to make their pooop taste yucky. It works for some anyway. Check foster and smith or something. I think they call it poop deterrent? Good luck.

My dog did the same thing...

Doctors Foster and Smith magazine..I purchased tablets called Distaste Triple strength. I have more than 100 tablets left and would be glad to send you. (they are just sitting in cabinet)They worked great. She doesn't even act interested in doing that anymore.

One of my boxers did the same thing. I bought the Distaste from Foster & Smith and Jazz will still eat it if I don't get out there fast enough. Just how bad does it have to taste before they won't eat it?? NO dog kisses for awhile!!

garlic

I sprinkle just a tiny bit of garlic powder (not garlic salt) on my dogs food and they stopped eating their own poop. They dont seem to notice it when it's on their food but they definately notice it in their droppings.
