With heart felt Sympathy at your time of Loss.
I'm so sorry for your loss of Walter; Another fur babie taken to the bridge too soon. my heart aches and tears start to roll down my face.. every time I come to the Rainbow bridge site and read another sad posting.. I know how much you hurt. and their are no words that can take away the sorrow. it just helped me knowing that I wasn't alone and talking about my hurt seemed to help. Wishing you friends to comfort you, Faith to uphold you, and loving memories to heal your heart.
My Riley was young too only 3yrs and had turned 3 in the Vet hospital on Dec 29th and On Jan 1st we had to help him go to the bridge.I hoped with all my heart that the Vet could make him well, but even with all the medical treatments, his illness was much stronger. Like Julie posted to you. When our babies get sick. We do the best that we can do for them. and if they die we have so much sorrow and guilt about if we did the right things for them. I've done it to myself so many times too. But know in your heart that you did all you could do for your Walter. I'm sure he knew how much you loved him. You got to spend time with him at home in the place he felt the most safe and very loved. Riley was an hour away in the hospital and I used to think that he thought we didnt love him and had abandon him. Because they didn't want us to visit him every day because they said they get depressed when you don't take them home with you. And I didn't want to take any more of his energy to get better away by making him sad when we left him every day. Because I was still so hopeful. So see there is no right answer about doing the right thing. "You have to listen to your heart"
I thought I was helping Riley by giving him the best care and not getting in the way. You choose to bring your baby home with you and thats where I think Walter would of wanted to be. Believe me I've wished that I was more selfish and didn't listen to them and would of went every single day just so I could of held him in my arms for longer. May you find comfort in knowing that Walter is no longer suffering from his illness. and he is at the beautiful bridge going boxer crazy with all the beloved babies that came running to greet their new play mate.
God speed Walter..

Sweet Boy No more suffering no more pain and you have so many new friends to chase play with at the bridge
Riley: My best friend

waiting at the bridge 1-01-05 love you and miss you, forever in my heart.
