My Baby Girl

Hello,
I have a 15 week old Boxer named XUXA. She is adorable, and very intelligent (purebread). I have her trained to walk outside to the patio area to go to the bathroom; however that is only when the door is open.

My question is: How do I train her to tell me she has to go? Right now she is on automatic when the door is open.

Well, I would start all over again with the potty training. Are you crate training her? I would definately recommend it, it'll make training much easier. Also, my dogs bark at me to go out but you can bell train her also. Some people here on BW swear by it, I think I would much rather a bell ring than get barked at right in the face.:D Now, do you want her always to go potty on the porch or eventually in the yard? Because if you teach her to pee & poo on the porch she will always want to go there, it'll never end. You can train her to go in a specific area in your yard and that way you won't have to scoop poop on your porch. She is small now, the poo just gets bigger. I am sorry if I didn't give you much help, but I would definately not recommend training her to go on the porch, it gets messy and smelly and you will eventually regret it. (My parents trained their yorkie to go in a litter box, well now he is 2 y/o and he pees & poos around the litter box not in it. Now they are kicking themselves for training him that way, the room smells and needs to be cleaned everytime the dog goes.)
